We've gone all-in and put our house on the market and purchased a camper. It definitely brings a new subset of challenges and we're learning to accommodate! We're new to the RV game and have had to learn so much in a very short timeframe! Come along as we make the transition and offer any advice or experience you have to help make it a bit easier. Thank you!

@@KSGetOut One thing I forgot from experience, never leave the awning down at night (or if the wind starts to pick up/windy days), roll it up. We left ours down and a storm rolled in (was nothing on the weather about a pop up storm or storms in the area) and caught us by surprise, was not fun trying to get the awning off the roof of the camper in pouring rain, lightning and dark as heck. Thankfully my cousins were in the same campground and they came and helped us also get it back down and rolled up, thankfully only busted the brackets at the bottom on the down arms on the sides of the awning and the awning damaged the antenna, all said and done it was about $100 to fix, but luckily no one was hurt during that incident.

I’m excited for you. Your pooch will adjust before you for sure. Get a memory foam mattress topper from Walmart…they are nice. Also, when my 6’2” brother comes, I have a hand-held shower wand for him…better than nothing. Have a lot of meals outdoors on the picnic table…have a grill and grill your food. Do you have awnings. They help. A lot! Your days in the RV are numbered now. Good luck👍🏻💕🙏🏻🙋🏼‍♀️

My husband and I did the same thing, but we ended up staying in the RV for almost 13 years... going from a 3 bedroom house and 2 car garage to a RV was hard, I gave away half of a stuff collection of 30 years. But good news, we had so many good times and memories! You will to, if you want to! Best advice I can give is to make it fun, even if it’s not! From watching your videos, you’ve got this!

Just an FYI…there is a way that you can convert those beds to a king size. Of course it will take up some more of the walking space in the bedroom area but it can be done and you can use a regular mattress instead of the RV mattress. I guess it would all depend on how important good sleep is for you both….if the current bed isn’t so comfortable I would look into it. There are videos out there that show you step by step on how to convert the bed. My brother converted his to a King and it was well worth giving up a few inches of walking space to have the larger bed to sleep in.

The first 4 yrs we lived in a 48' sailboat. If you try, you can have separate time, together. Do your regular activities and honor the other person's space. We bought a 1996 Teton 5th wheel and live in it fulltime and we are still in it (26 years now). We went to an RV dealer and looked for RVs one time. The salesman knew we were looking for a 2 bedroom RV. He called around and found one 5 states away and had it bought to his dealership without asking us. We went in to see it and bought it. We have never bought a truck to pull it, we always hire someone to pull it. We've had 4 leaks in it and my hubby has fixed them every time. We just have a standard fridge and it has been OK even with a 1 1/2 year old. My freezer has to be defrosted by hand, don't mind. It is built well. Teton aren't made anymore. We have reroofed it once. I can say one thing. If there is a will, there is a way. It is very cheap living, almost no taxes which is what allowed us to save our money. Both my sons are over 6 foot tall, one is 6'8'' and he even fits in it and the bathroom too. It is wonderful living.

The bed situation; would it be possible to put a larger mattress in that space? Just a thought, sleep is very important so I hope all goes well. Princess, just go to the bedroom and sleep, it's quieter there when Mum and Dad are there. You could even hide your head under a pillow. (I had storm hater years ago. K&S, Change does not always make your pets happy. If she is not growling and snapping at everyone, she will adjust. When we sold our first home, we also had a sellers market going on. Makes for a lot of tension but as long as the home sells, you now are F/T Camping Folks. You only learn by doing the chores and it will get easier as time passes. New well will be done before you know it and then you can have a pad dug for the camper and then you will be F/T Land Living Campers. Just take each day as it happens, like you said , you got a strong support system who have your backs. Cheers from Maine.

Couple things you may want to do…first, by a cast iron pan or a pizza stone to keep on the bottom shelf of the oven. That way your oven will cook more evenly. Second, if your campground has showers, use them. It will help the gray tank from filling to quickly. Be sure to wear flip flops in the shower. Keep an eye on the black tank and the gray tank. Don’t let them get to full. Always empty the black tank first. That way when you empty the gray tank it will clean more of the junk from the black tank. You can clean the black tank with some Dawn dish soap and borax. Also, watch as many KZfaq videos on your brand motorhome as possible. I think that’s it. We don’t live in ours full time but we are snowbirds and spend our winters at home in AZ and then travel 4 to 5 months in the summer. Oh, I almost forgot. Bring the awning in when it’s windy or raining. Feel free to ask questions if you need to.

We used to camp in a camper (no slide outs though) and I found that the best place for plates/bowls/cups was cabinets near the sink!! We kept our pans in a pan drawer (larger deep drawer) or in the oven if you have one (we didn't). When the weather was good enough we always utilized the firepit (had a cooking grate on it also that you could swing away from the fire) and a dutch oven. Dad Converted the closet area in the kitchenet into a pantry area and we could hang coats also Wire rack system on the door for spices boxed items like hamburger helper, rice a roni, mac n cheese etc). Canned items were placed over the wheel well in that closet also in low sided bins. Less frequently used items were stored under the kitchen table benches (paper towels, toilet paper etc). You just need to figure out what you use the most to keep closer at hand and less used stuff in the less accessed area's. Don't worry you guys will be just fine. That camper looks bigger then the one we had. We sold it cause we hadn't been camping for almost two years and not worth paying rent on storing it if not using it. Miss camping though.

We had a lot of stuff in storage, that's why they make a fortune. Love the recliners. We spent a lot of time outdoors. We had a screen room that attached to the awning. Look at comments below, someone told of how to be able to put in a king size bed. We put in a sleep number type bed, easily moved into an RV, still have it in our house. You could give her a smaller, less wide bed. Storms are very scary in an RV.

If you have to settle on a queen size bed. You can order a extra long queen for taller people. You must have bought a extra long king bed before because queen and king beds are the same head to foot. Feeling cooped up will just give you more ambition to work on the property for your new house.

Congratulations on this move I know how excited you must be to have sold your house so quickly. As for the uncomfortable mattress, I know that Dutch ( Sean ) & Brandy had the same issue, and if I remember correctly they bought a thick foam mattress topper 4-6 inches I believe so they could sleep more comfortably. My wife and I did this in our summer rental cottage and it made that bed feel like you were sleeping on a cloud. It's totally worth the investment and I am sure your bodies will THANK YOU! My hotel room was half the size of your trailer. Soooo--o do not stress and rent a storage unit for the items you do not need immediately. Next, do not try to cook the same way you are used to. Grill outside if you have an electric grill. That will help. Make a list of the 20 simplest dishes you both like and rotate them. SIMPLE dishes. No more than 25 minute prep time ( rice or potatoes take 20-25 minutes). Get a rice cooker unless you already have one. Put it on and go outside to relax. The less you have to cook and the easier it is to clean up afterward the more stress you will reduce. Fewer dishes for a smaller cook space. ALSO after a certain time of day close your curtains on windows that face neighbors or a road. Open curtains can be an invitation to neighbors when you don't want to be bothered. It helped me to pretend I was camping. Seriously use the outside as an extension of your living space. It will relieve the confined feeling. Sit outside at night and get to know the wildlife around you. Go out in the morning with coffee and enjoy being outside. Get mosquito netting and jury rig a closed-in patio, so mosquitos do not chase you inside. I go to church on Sundays and then out to lunch so it was easy for me. Pick a day the two of you have to get away and go shopping, go window shopping (Tractor Supply is a great place to kill an hour). Walk around price ideas go to lunch then go home and discuss the ideas. You will plan your farm out completely by the time you are ready to get over there. Think of a few keywords that will make you remember why you are doing what you are doing and what your goal is. shout one when out when you get stir crazy. Ha, ha it is silly but it works. On the weekends build something for your farm. So when you leave the land you are tired and feel like you have accomplished something. I hope any of these suggestions help you. They all helped me. I got to where I could cook a meal in 15 to 20 minutes on the two burners I had. I looked on KZfaq for new recipes and tried them.

If you find some tie down twist bars - 2-3 fts (like the twist bars you put in the ground to put dog leash in the ground) can have a long cable go through the back bumper where the sewer hose sometimes is stored to tie the trailer down to protect from some of the winds and also do the same attach over the front end on the tongue area to stable a tie down.

Add an awning of some sort over your slide outs since the tops are flat… keeps debris from “gumming up” the works, prolonging the life of mechanics and saving you the prob of climbing up and cleaning them off.

Kyle, one thing that you all could do for "Princess" is to put a pretty tight under shirt on her to like hold her tight & secure maybe just a little thicker if she's still having those emotional issues. They can feel the static energy in the air & that's what they're afraid of. So happy you're finally getting things going your way, I know it's not exactly your way, just tell the LORD, Thank You & Pass the Ammunition. You know what I'm talking about, ❤ 🙏 your way.
