Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort is a Disney Vacation Club resort in South Carolina. Video from this tour was recorded by Andrew on April 16-18, 2021 using a DJI Pocket 2 and a DJI Action. The voiceover was recorded with a Blue Yeti microphone.

my family has been going to Disney's HHI since 1999. We absolutely love that you can get Disney-level top notch vacationing without having Mickey and Cinderella everywhere you look. Verrrrrry much in tune with HHI's low country, relaxed atmosphere. An absolute gem

Great Video, as a resident of HHI, you'd be surprised how little we know about what's contained in the Disney Resort, PS nice legs on the water slide!

Thank you so much for uploading this! I remember staying at this resort back in 2011 and I loved every second of it. I still have a baseball cap from their gift shop that has Shadow on the front. Such a gorgeous place!

The similarities between Shadow at Hilton Head and Shadow from Homeward Bound. Both Golden Retrievers with the same name.

Good catch! AFAIK, that didn’t factor into naming her, but maybe it did factor into adopting her as the resort dog. I’m going to miss her when I return again since she’s been replaced by Pluto 😭 -A

Love this!!! Does anyone know if you can bring your own bikes and lock them up or do you have to rent disney's bikes. Thanks for filming this!

Thanks for watching! You can totally bring your own bikes and use the racks. I'd make sure to spray your bikes with some rust inhibitor because of the salt air. - Andrew

Do you have to be a member to book at disney resort ?

Nope! However, you’ll notice extremely limited availability or no availability if you’re booking Hilton Head directly through Disney at hiltonhead.disney.go.com/. Also, the prices will likely be very expensive through Disney. My recommendation is to do what’s called renting Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points, which essentially means that a member will book a room for you and you’ll pay them for it at an agreed-upon price. I’ve personally used both DVCreservations.com and dvcRentals.com (David’s). I didn’t have any issues with either, but there seem to be mixed reviews for David’s. By the way, Disney does have many non-DVC resorts that are like regular hotels, but those are all by the theme parks so you'd book them through disneyland.com or waltdisneyworld.com. DVC rooms are built for extended stays and have a kitchenette or full kitchen depending on the room size. I hope I explained that in a way that made sense! -Andrew

Do they have beach chairs for rental at the beach house? Or do I need to bring my own?

Good question - I had to look this up on an HHI Facebook group. Disney does not rent beach chairs, but Shore Beach Service does, and there's more info on their site. It looks a little pricey, so you may want to bring your own if possible. www.shorebeach.com/index.php/rentals

When the resort was being built, Ken May was the VP of DVC, and his wife's name was Mary! The May River flows nearby, so it was a natural fit for the Imaginears to use the name! (I was on the opening team at the resort, and I worked there for 25 years before I retired a little while ago!)
