Honestly Alpharad, I’m totally serious when I say it’s your commentary that made this as good as it was. A lot of people gripe on smash commentary when compared to other top fighting games, but your supreme knowledge of items along with your normal funny personality is what really sold it home. Pair that with another talented announcer and some silly business in game and you have a recipe for success

I always have fond memories of this. I remember being in the hospital late one night, and ironically was and still am in Michigan while Frostbite was going on. But i remember watching and laughing at this, and it was some of the good that helped take away from the pain.

In Nairo's last match against MVD that item/gardevoir combo: reflected like 6 times, did 68.5% damage, and killed Nairo at 0. WOW

You know, Coney has a very funny face of suffering half of the tournament, but not like actual suffering, but suffering because he feels guilty for laughing at Alpha's humor. Also his voice is all the time like "dude how the f*** can someone have just so many bad videogame puns?!"

I know it can't be this way all the time, but this was by far my favorite smash tourney I've watched of any of them. like yeah, the pot wasn't big so the stakes weren't either, but the players fucking around, talking shit and having actual fun instead of serious face smash experts was so entertaining

This is actually one of the most hype tournaments I've seen. 10/10.

This was incredible. Also, the commentators talking about the item /assist trophy names actually got me to learn some by the end of the tourney. This sparked an interest in playing with items that I never had before!! I hope more of these tournaments are held and uploaded, they're SO entertaining! 2:35:15 and a bunch of other moments made me laugh unexpectedly. 2:36:18 really highlights what alpha said about how marss plays like what he'd do "but better"
