Especially when the tops can be done wfp which saves time and makes you safer. Been doing this 31 years now and don't use ladders but still do bottoms the traditional way. No need for the risk of ladders now but if you are happy with that the keep it up Peter as you are a great trad cleaner. Just personal choice with ladders though.

For someone like me just starting out in the business I have to say this is one of the best instructional videos I've seen, no music is why I picked your video to watch, and you showed us the job from start to finish, you did an excellent job by the way, I have just about all the water fed pole gear needed to do the job, but I also want to be able to offer customers a choice of WFP or traditional, no doubt I will get customers that won't like the thought of me leaving the frames and glass wet, which is why I'm in the process of buying a full kit of traditional gear, thank you for taking the time to make this video and for showing us the gear you use, my mind is now made up on which ladder to buy, one last thing, which brand of soap do you use ?, cheers Trad Man and all the best for the future.

I’ve just started, I’m in Nashville, Tn, and I have a 14” ninja and I got the new moerman 18” excelerator with the 3.0 liquidator channel. I’m practicing everywhere I can, work, home, jiu jitsu, but I’m having a hard time with leaving lots of detailing. And trying to use it on a pole is even tougher. Today I noticed that when I switch to my left hand, I’m almost 80% better, but still trying to teach my right hand. I have been watching a ton of your videos lately and practice using a Scottish accent lol. Thanks for the videos!

Hey i also have the 3.0 channel and it gave me a ton of trouble with it just skipping over water when i first started using it, to the point where i didnt use it entirely. Then i saw a video somewhere of someone boiling the end clips and bending them back so they basically are parallel with the channel and it works perfectly now, Just a suggestion if you might still be struggling with it

Great video as usual Tradman👍 I've been using the new Moerman 3.0 channel and end clips for a month or so. I found them through CLEANING SPOT based in London. I usually use Window cleaning warehouse for supplies, but they have taken a while to get them in stock. I think you will be impressed with the new clips. I find they do perform alot better, they just feel more forgiving on the glass , less issues with streaks and lines!👍😀

Great that you put a ladder tie in the drivers footwell! means you won’t drive off without putting ladders on properly, I have seen it where people put ladder on roof once finished job then get distracted with something then totally forget to secure it down as the ladder ties have been in the back of van and they haven’t noticed and drive off, only to break at the traffic lights and the ladder come flying forward and through the car window in front!

Be a big fish in a small pond, not a small fish in a big pond. The window clean and go is what I call " slap and tickle" race to get it done, round every corner leave water on the sill. Moerman needs to make a variety of sizes. A Excelerator 1.0 makes a great handle for a 6” channel.

Thanks for your video. Super interesting as always. I love the way you explain everything without music. One question only: How do you decide where to stop detailing? You detail the door but leave the frame on top full of spider webs. See 15:35 and on. I understand you must stop somewhere or else you can clean all framework of the house, but to me the door is an eye catcher and should be clean, including the top frame?

Hi pete mate, great video, as usual. Comments that come to mind...funny and sympathy with the wasps trouble, you avoided that one 😉. Stingers never got you neither, ...pro...you close out mostly on the right, your rubber will probably wear out on your left? Don't forget to tell the viewers, only work 2 handed on the ground floor only. Does that Samurai 2 insert really 🤔 work? As for the applicator, I am trying to invent a device capable of holding the applicator horizontal, instead of vertical....seems to me that it would solve it drying out and being too wet on one end. Do you honestly rate those microfiber cloths, over nice thin scrim? Thats it for now, you certainly looked 👌 like you were enjoying the day.....thats the essence of our trade eh Pete....Nice one from me, God bless you bro.

@TRAD - MAN THE WINDOW CLEANER I use WFP mostly, but I do use trad for internal cleans and restaurant cleans. Mostly commercial work blocks of flats and offices, where the use of ladders is a no no. I was shocked that you used the moerman without the angle on the rubber just a straight cut, also wetting the rubber before using it on the glass. I do find that when using the Moerman on the pesky restaurant windows that are about 6'4 high and about 2' wide, I find that the squeegee leaves an area of about an inch on the left hand side of untouched soap, unger squeegees do not. I prefer the Moerman on these windows, as they are the flat bifold type windows with thin rubber seals that the ungers can get the edge of the squeegee rubber lift ofF the glass, if you know what I mean, so you have to be really careful with that. The Moermans clips help keep the rubber against the rubber window seal, but this inch of soap it leaves is annoying as I then am having to sweep back up to clear it again and I feel it is a technique issue, not a tool issue. I use the Moerman angled rubber in the channel. Any advice? No sarcastic responses from the rest of you 😁😉

@@TradMan Thanks 👍 Turn marks and not great slip over the glass, and quite a bit of detailing. I’ve been using Unger Ergotec channels and handles for 20 years with, in the last few years, the Razrblade Red rubber and have none of these problems (apart from expected detailing). As I say, it’s obviously me. I’ve just looked at your vid about using the Moerman squeegees so I’m going to have to practice some more. Do you have a list of must do’s for success?
@TradMan
@TradMan 2 жыл бұрын
Yup sure so 1. After dunking applicator in clean water. Apply soap directly to applicator sleeve. 2. Make sure your squeegee rubber is flush at the ends of the clips. Not too long or short. 3. Pin the rubber in place. I use unger green insert clips which hold the rubber better and lessen the chances of lines/streaks caused by rubber pulling out from the channel during use. 4. Choose a good rubber. Personally I've found the best rubber with Liquidator Channels are ettore master soft and unger green power rubber. Some folks really like razor red but I find it too grippy on the glass in liqs. Try those tips if not already, and other than that it's practice, practice and practice some more 😎
