This is the full, unedited, normal speed, swatch of both sets of real Prismacolor Premier pencils (from Amazon UK) and the suspected 'fake' Prismacolor Pencils (from Temu) . The video has minimal chatter but I do chat a little bit. This is for those who enjoy real time pencil swatching videos. After making the video about the Prismacolor Pencils I bought from Amazon, I was left with many questions, are they fake or are they real? So I decided to do a deep dive into them; I contacted Prismacolor themselves... and also a contact from a pencil company in China.

Hi i just bought a set for $92 on Temu. 1ST i was surprised they werent all broken bc they shipped them with no pacakaging. Just put a label on them! Anyways, I was soooo leary. 1st all of the pencils have a white line where the wood meets the color of each pencil. I recently ought pencils from Blick and nowhite line. So Idk what to think of that. My Lemon is actually yellow chartreuse. So I have no actual Lemon. The celadon green comes out looking the same but is different than the one I already have. Some of them actually feel like the Scholars do. Know what I mean? (If you dont have them, their waxier than the premiers. But all the barrels are centered. I havent hadany problems withany breaking. So honestly other than the Lemon, (thankfully i had just gotten one at Blick!) I have no real complaints. I wish they would put a neo. Green in like they have in the Scholars

Hello Lily thanks for these swatches ...I m thinking about getting the Prismacolor's again, as the Holbein has had some very bad reviews being too waxy and slippery also scratchy ......Luminance are too expensive at this time and I can find a decent budget pencil with good pigment payoff. to be honest .... 5 years later I do regret selling them

@@ArtJourneyUK I steer away from budget brands as I my option they all made by the same Chinese company . ….Ummm Truth be told I am a stickler for lightfast pencils …it is silly as I am now way an Artist, all I do is silly little sketches and color them in ,Use coloring books … only have Polychomos 120 set and 20 Caren D ACHE Luminance . My lovely Man brought me Premier Prismacolor 150 colorpencils they will arrive end of July Aug. Supper excited.. 🤣😂🤣😂🥰

I know! And they weren't much different in feel either. Some of the Temu ones were just as soft and some of the real ones were scratchy and hard!

I started with the 70 something set made in USA before production was moved to Mexico. I quickly became frustrated with not having the colors in the bigger set. So when they went on sale, I took the plunge. The 150 set from Mexico had broken cores, split wood and were so poor I returned them for a replacement set. The pencils were somewhat better but it was clear, the production facility in Mexico had quality control issues. I enjoy the buttery smooth effects I can achieve with Prisma colored pencils and plan to stick with them. But really wish they could do better. Such a shame really. Someday if I have the funds, I would love to step up to another brand.

I've heard this a lot and I agree, it is such a shame that a lovely pencil has been diluted with bad production when it could be a wonderful heritage brand.

Sorry. I can’t see any difference in colours and texture. It still can be the same factory for prismacolor and Temu set, but the one from Temu can be a little bit defective with a text on a pencil or because of the typo on the box or anything else. And it can be the reason why these boxes were excluded by Prismacolor and just were forgotten at the factory. So they are just selling it as is 😅

Yes, I could see no difference in colour or feel no difference either. In the full comparison video, I asked Prismacolor themselves this question, about them being "seconds"...

I went through my prisma spares and have found that I have a small fake set. Some of the outer colours are completely different to my real prismacolour, but the colouring on the page is very similar.

@ArtJourneyUK I would say mine are like the ones Sarah Renee Clark looked at. I've no idea where I got them from as I buy random preowned sets so that it have spares. They feel different when I colour but the wax colours are very similar.

Hi Ginger, it seems they have sold out. I know the UK Temu only had 10 sets when I bought mine and I believe the US Temu sold out a week or so after I made this video.

@@ArtJourneyUKI just think the people living in the UK are having to pay more for the real Prismacolor Premier colored pencils because they may have to go through a middle man or third party sellers.
