It kinda did, a bit, the following episode talks about it. But JTBC doesn't seem to have a large audience globally like Mnet so it's more local I guess. Also, kpop fans don't know how much better this performance is compared to their fave, they hear this and their brain doesn't connect any dot. It's like trying to tell a kid that eating candy isn't good for them, the only thing they know is the taste so they believe candy is good for them.

I imagine you talk about the girl in black dress? Yes when switching to classical she is amazing but in some places when she goes more pop she needs work (they both do) as some notes are rather flat .. Great performance overall needs some improvement ...

둘이 딱 생명의 신과 죽음의 신처럼 검은옷은 조금의 여유를 가지고 올테면 와봐 하는 느낌이고 흰 옷은 전력을 다해서 맞서 싸우는 느낌이었음 둘 다 표정연기를 너무 잘해서 볼때마다 소름돋고 계속 찾아보게 됨 몰입도가 최고였음 앞에 인터뷰하는 거 보니까 검은옷분이 음색이 잘 맞을거 같다고 뽑았던데 진짜 잘 뽑은 듯

I’m in literal tears. This was insanely amazing. Both of them hands down are top tier vocalist. They both have an amazing range and near perfect control. The lows and highs from both of them were insane have me constant chills. Sonically this cover beats out the original version by a long run. I found myself yelling “damn damn damn damn” or “oh my god this is insane” throughout the video. I haven’t been this excited about a performance in a while but this was absolutely incredible. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

hwang seyoung's eyes are crazy in this. it's almost as if she embodied a full ego-filled psychopath and is singing this as a message to herself. the goosebumps I have are a combination of the insane vocals and the fear she instilled in me. seriously, if I was a judge and she was holding eye contact like that while hitting those high notes, I would be shivering... both are amazing, kang yunjeong sings this with a more kpop-sounding voice tone mixed with her soprano training. her vocal technique is well-trained and she is very detailed with her vocal choices, and she shows that off throughout this performance. it is comfortable to listen to her singing and watch her performance, almost like a inkigayo stage or something. hwang seyoung however is performing as the villain in a movie. she is uncomfortably deranged but you can't stop watching her and am constantly eager to see what she will do next. maybe it is due to her being more seasoned, but I feel that hwang seyoung sings fully in her voice, she has her own sound that is second nature to her. to me, kang yunjeong is often imitating the more common singing styles and tones, albeit perfectly, however she hasn't fully reached her potential with her own sound and voice. I look forward to her growth as a singer and artist.
