There are already guys producing billet Barra motors in the USA? I think Steve Morris does a billet block now? (Or very soon?) but he's already made a full billet head for the Barra engine before he's done the block? Steve said he wants to get his head perfect and spun up on the stock bottom end, as he wants to deliver a package (head values, springs, cams etc etc) all rotating and running like stock? Then, the progression will be to add all his parameters for strengthening the block design (I think he mentioned due to no water jacket that he has elongated the ribbing on the block to act as passive air cooling....but the over all size of the block with this design; is same dimensions as factory Barra block? Steve does a whole lot of modifications to engines (mostly high HP V8s numerous customers in the 6s) mods to journals, custom bearing sizes, larger oil galleries etc. So a Steve Morris billet motor is meant to be swap in replacement for stock for just about any American performance motor...... And now Aussie Barras too 👍

@@Jarmezrocks yeah, I know Steve, built a F3 pro charger for him from billet almost 15 years ago, it made a set of vernier callipers look small. No longer bothered with the automotive industry as you could make more money extruding tooth brushes than creating category one performance product. There's an Australian company making billet blocks with their latest being a barra but there's few people who want to spend 15k on just the block.

Yeah but you can daily drive a barra at this hp with a heap more torque and that power can be used under 6000 rpm, I’ve seen all your posts your just a little Japanese suck up that cant realise that the Hilux is outdated and a shitbox meanwhile jdm cars are also outdated and need more money put into them and need to bought for way more to make the same power as a barra but still be worse due to the fact they have no torque at all and no power below 6500 rpm

There a good engine 9ks to ltr auto with 360ks tows my 2 and half tonne boat with ease diesels are great when you get cheap fuel.

Ha ha ha ha. The non turbo cars make their power in the top end by revving hard. Good on the 1/4, no so good on the street. Turbo Barras have a very long stroke, thus a 1000hp has a massive midrange torque, that is often too much for the steet. My FG XR6T on stock cams, @ 25psi makes enough tourqe for me. A great all rounder. And tows a boat easily.

@@nordic5490 all I've seen on the street is barras getting spanked whether it's from a dig or rolling on, useless power, useless engines. Better off buying something else. There's heaps better than this outdated junk

@@94toxic94 ha ha ha. I have never lost from the lights. Ever. In my FG XR6T GTX3584 @ 25PSI on E85. The biggest problems are traction and tyre life. I run Mitchy PS5 for wet weather and cold road grip. Plenty of hookup on a 40°C day. And, on the dyno @ 16psi made more than 1200NM at the treads at 3500rpm. 25psi just is a handful. You must be confused. A $2k Barra ($1k LPG engine + valve springs) can make bit over 530 rwkw, assuming 17% loss in an auto box and drive train = 640crank kw = 870crank hp. A bit higher with cams. That is cheap hp. What do you drive ? 2v ? No turbo ? Slow ?
