Full Metal Alchemist is one of the top rated anime and manga Shonen franchises. Unfortunately, there aren't a ton of FMA video games that came out in North America. Growing up the only one I played was Full Metal Alchemist: Dual Sympathy for the Nintendo DS.
In this retrospective review I wanted to go back a see if this Full Metal Alchemist beat 'em up video game was actually any good. In Dual Sympathy the player can control a variety of FMA favorite characters such as Colonel Mustang, Edward and Alphonse Elric, Scar and more. The game also features a wide variety of bonus content and mini games. Compared to other popular Shonen anime FMA didn't seem to get as many good licensed video games. It's been forever since I played this title last so revisiting it was a good time!

1:20 I have to be “that guy”, but…this is not Hiromu Arakawa. It’s Edward’s voice actress, Romi Park, cosplaying. There is no picture of the actual Hiromu Arakawa on the internet.

You can try those FMA RPG's from the GBA, they receive an english patch not long time ago.

Good call! I actually just modded a GBA recently so that's the perfect excuse to check out those patches.

I recently started playing this game and the fifth laboratory is the worst part,i stuck in the boulder minigame,but i can not deny this game is one of the most satisfactory ones I've played,the pixiel art and the sound track are perfect,sorry for my bad english,That's all,great video

You missed that you can do an uppercut finisher with Ed by holding up during your combo

I played a little bit of this game! A FMA beat em up sounded so cool to me lol my only gripe was the minigames tbh

The run off agasint a Boulder minigame does not feel pasable in emulator.

Dual Sympathy is a decent game if you want Fullmetal Alchemist on your DS. Nothing groundbreaking, but if you want Fullmetal Alchemist on the go and aren't exactly ripe with other alternatives unless you live in Japan where they got a couple RPGs on the GBA, then it fills the the void fine enough. Personally I like the PS2 games better for their original stories, even if the gameplay is super stiff.
