On the evening of November 8th, crews from Fairfax County Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a reported house fire on Valley Road in the Fair Oaks section of Fairfax County. Due to additional incidents in the area, many units that were on the ticket were not typical first due units. This resulted in multiple companies adding on and the first due engine being around 10 minutes away from the scene.
Engine 434 (Oakton) arrived on scene with a 2 story single family under construction with fire through the roof. Engine 434 immediately requested defensive operations and units arriving on scene pulled lines to protect exposures.
Crews were able to knock the fire quickly and the main body of fire was knocked down within 20 minutes. Good work by all crews.
Sorry if the footage was shaky at times, was not prepared for the colder temperatures that evening and I was freezing my ass off.
