Always roll a window down when getting out the truck, make it a habit always pop a window down 5/6 inches

I locked myself out of my truck before at the fuel island. I panicked for like a second and then realized I had a extra key under my hood. After that I got a third key and kept it in my wallet

Get a heavy duty key magnetic box and hide an extra key under your truck,... you can get it in Pilot

Or better yet make sure you have a key with you every time you leave the truck. That's what I do bc I also learned the hard way. $200 to open the door.
