She scares me to death her daring personality. She would get up on a ladder with a running saw. What a gardener does for their garden! Bless her!

I wouldn’t really recommend it, but I think that’s where most homeowners are at. Most will just try to get the jobs done themselves. I wouldn’t attempt anything more daring than what I did for that one branch, though! 😊 Even though the camera angle didn’t really show it, I was able to position the ladder in a solid, open spot and far enough away to where I knew the branch wouldn’t come close to me. Thankful I don’t find the need for a ladder 99.9% of the time! We have a great arborist I call for anything bigger!

As a Stihl dealer, one of the 1st things we would tell a customer buying a pole saw is, safety glasses, and a helmet. I cringed as I watched you cut those branches out, off of a ladder and no helmet. Lol

Hi Laura we have a similar pole chainsaw and this may come from the mom in me, but the way my husband and I cut out branches when we need to use the ladder especially is to through a rope around the branch to be cut and one of us will cut as the other is pulling on the branch so that it doesn't come back and knock the person off the ladder. I know what a mom, but saftey first.

That little nub you used to pull down branches is for resting against the branch you are cutting so it doesn't jump around the rotation of the chain pulls the branch to the nub just like when you use a saws all or jigsaw.

I didn't want the dirt to get in your hair 🤦 🤷 You do have beautiful thick luscious look hair👍 😏 maybe you can do a special routine on how to look beautiful when gardening. Coffee with Laura and an honest review very refreshing this morning!!! I hope your arms didn't end up hurting later in the day from holding the pruner up but what a great way to increase your shoulder and arm strength right. Who needs the gym when you have 2 acres of garden to take care of :) I really enjoy the fact that you guys get new things and try them out for us because even if it's something I may not use at least I can offer an idea to other people I know who might get this product. I love your comment at the end about making sure people wear safety glasses or Aaron's glasses lol and I saw that you had a furry helper for just a bit then he decided to leave too funny. I also love how you stress the safety end of things and you made sure your ladder was sturdily placed before climbing up.

You are so amazing girl....you just go for it. I tend to be that way too and get so excited that I can get in there and just getter done. I have a similar saw but Ryobi brand. I think the higher you go above your head you lose more of the control of the situation. I think if the job is requiring you to go much higher its likely safer to have a professional tree guy do. My instructions on my saw I think said do not get on a ladder?!? You are a daring girl.😲 Just my thoughts as I watch you tackle the job as well as experience from jobs around my hobby farm. Also agree with a few of the comments of a hard hat would be a good addition. Be safe😎 But I too am totally bad wearing one myself🤪 oopsie. Enjoy the vides you two 😍

Boy, how I wish I had a pole saw! Could’ve saved myself a lot of time and energy limbing up the awful black cherry trees in my yard with my 12’ telescoping manual pruning saw. That gray thing you are using to pull cut branches down is actually the piece that should be against the branch you are cutting. Those nubs on it kind of pull the branch into the saw for more efficient cutting. Cutting should occur at the “base” of the saw not in the middle or the tip-either can allow the saw to bounce around which is very dangerous, (maybe a little less so with a pole saw but certainly with a regular chain saw). Stay safe! ♥️ Love your videos!!! ♥️ 🎥🌲🌿🌷🌸🌻🌳

I made the same comment about the gray nub I seen it bouncing around and thought that's not right I have run chainsaws most of my life and when they jump around vou are looking for trouble I didn't see you're comment until after I posted mine otherwise I would have only said I agree on you're comment instead of adding another one. just making sure everyone is safe because a saw can be dangerous.

Great pole saw! I've been needing one that doesn't run on gas because of my shoulder being dislocated from an accident years ago, It can be hard to hold after trimming for a while. I can only reach so far over my head and the vibrations from the gas kind of bother me. Thanks for sharing I was wondering how this worked on a battery. Btw.. Mike doesn't read instructions either, he always laughs at me for sitting there and reading almost every word 😄 The saw cut great! Thanks for the slow motion shots so I could see the blades cutting.

I adore your channel. And the end was great. But I think a bit of a safety moment with good eye protection as well as just general precautions around being on a ladder (with spotter) and anticipating the fall of the branch is very important. Good cutting technique is always important because if you cut poorly this can be an entry spot for disease and pests. Loping smaller branches (1” or so) is usually much cleaner. Great video!

I have one for cleaning out weed sapling trees from junipers. No no more crawling into the bush. They make me itch, terribly.

I started with Ryobi, and continue to use them (including the cordless tree trimmer - which is AWESOME) because I already have a bank of batteries for my myriad of tools.

The first thing one should do before making the first cut is fill the chainsaw oil reservoir with oil. Then spin the chain for a couple of minutes to make sure the oil is flowing properly. Do that every time you use it and never let the reservoir run dry.

I got anxiety watching the cheddar /Russell running nearby where you were cutting branches. God help us all if the branch landed on him. That seems like a really good tool to trim up trees & it's fast. Great job Laura.

We have one for hedges. I find it’s too heavy for me to do for a long period of time because of the weight. My husband usually does the bushes. Although trimming hedges takes a lot longer then cutting a few branches. So I could find this tool pretty helpful!

You go girl! I love to use the extension chain saw. Pretty cool! 🤗. I can't use the regular chain saw its too heavy especially that is gasoline....but the small one like this I can and I like it. Mine is electric though....and you have to worry about the extension cord but I still like it.💪💪💪👋👋
