FUN Ways of Using MASKING FLUID

Here's a FUN WAY of using MASKING FLUID. We normally use it to reserve the white of the paper for pale detail work, today we are going to use it to mask within a main image to create an interesting layered silhouette style painting. Great for using up spare paint, and creating little greeting card designs - have fun!

Hi Angela, have fun with this, but it's not just for amateurs but for anyone of any ability, you can add whatever details be it complex or simple inside your outline. 😀

Wonderful. 2 ideas from your inspiration 1) this would make a nice replicated motif design on a bolt of fabric (i like to sew), 2) I've been working on a short illustrated book for my niece, who loves elephants. This silhouette concept will help me be playful and stop being fussy about elephatic realism (haha a new word too!). 👍

Have fun, you can do it! Think of other outline ideas as well, just think what you can do for some greeting cards. 😀

Never should have watched at bed time..my mind is spinning with all sorts of things to paint using this idea...maybe I should have sent for 2 bottles of mask..???😂😂

I have a quick question...I just bought a bottle of pēbēo making fluid. It appears to have settled while on the store shelf. Do I stir or shake it? Or is it ruined? I haven't used this brand. I used liquitex previously and it's extremely difficult to get off cotton paper.

I always stir my Pebeo, but stir it slowly with a cocktail stick. Shaking it will cause lots of bubbles, which will be a pain to apply to the paper leaving holes everywhere. I have never used liquitex so sadly not something I can answer for you Laurie,😉@@lauriebowen25
