Delighted with mine, the downward firing port makes such a huge difference when you are in a small room like mine and relatively close to the walls, other rear ported speakers caused issues in my room. The sound is stunning, high end yet never harsh unlike Bowers or Focal designs.

Thank you. Great to hear that you are enjoying them.

The Bowers tend to be a bit shrill in the tweeters, the Dyn's are more musical more refined.

I had a set of Confidence 20's for about 2 years, and really enjoyed them. I have since upgraded to the Confidence 30 speaker, that takes musical enjoyment to a whole new level. After having a floor stander, i could never go back to a bookshelf speaker. Mind you the Confidence 20 is a small floor stander in my opinion, not a bookshelf speaker.

I can't remember his name but I met him at AXPONA. He is very knowledgable about the technical aspects and design aspects of the speakers. I assumed he was one of the design engineers at Dynaudio; much to my surprise he is involved in marketing. What impressed me is thinking: if this guy works in marketing, then the actual design engineers must be off the charts brilliant. I heard the Confidence 60s which sounded as good as just about any speakers at the show.

What i'm missing is detailed instruction how to assemble stand with metal washers at the bottom. Should i tighten some screwes close to legs?

I noticed big improvement using supplied spikes into washers (instead of just rubber washers). Is it even better to remove rubber washers completely or replace rubber washers with more stiff, like metal ones?

Can you fill the stand with heavier crushed small white stone instead of sand? Would that be better than filling with sand?

I have always used an sand blasting agent, i think its iron silicate. Heavy and not to small particulates.

With supplied spirit level, should i perfectly level, or its possible to tilt/rake? Because i noticed front part of speaker is much heavier

I'd like some hints about speaker cable brands (models?) to pair with Confidence. Thank you.

I have been running the Madison Audio LAB E3 Extreme 1 cables. They were an amazing cable. I got a deal on a set of WireWorld Silver Eclipes 8 speaker cables. And they were slightly better. A bit more musical and romantic if you will. Great Sound costs money.

How do they work in a smaller room? My room is 12ft x 13ft (approximately 3.7 x 4m). It is acoustically treated. I am currently running Evoke 10s and they work wonderfully, but am curious if a higher end option would be feasible. Thanks in advance!

A 2-way speaker usually generally works well with small listening distances, and I would generally not be worried with that size room. One thing to be concerned about might be that a room with those dimensions will have room modes between 43-46 Hz. Since the Confidence 20 has more output at these frequencies than Evoke 10, you will experience more bass. But whether that is a problem also depends on the type of walls and ceiling, and your personal preference. It depends on whether you are searching for more/deeper bass as part of your upgrade, or not.

If some mids are coming out of bass port and mix up with direct sound, why Dynaudio Core monitors intended for super critical listening are front ported?
@ottojrgensen3497
@ottojrgensen3497 4 ай бұрын
Horses for courses. Core is designed for a different type of use. The port is on the front to allow soffit-mounting in studios, where a rear or downfiring port would not be possible. To avoid the risk of noise, the output of the port is somewhat damped, which makes it less efficient than a traditional port. This can be done because it is an active speaker, where the EQ can compensate, and because ultimate SPL is less important than accuracy. The Core port design would not work as well in a traditional passive speaker. /Otto, Dynaudio Academy

if you removed the port altogether you wouldn't have any port issues and it would sound better

Funny, I recently replaced my "sealed" Magico A3's "towers" with a pair of Confidence 20's, which I was NOT expecting to happen, after a friend brought his pair over and they pretty much eclipsed my A3's on damn near "everything" during a 5 hour long "direct shootout" on my Boulder 1100 series stack...It's obvious you've never even heard a pair of these things, so please refrain from making blanket statements about things you have ZERO "first hand" experience with, that silliness does this hobby no good at all.

@@katebush8415 Wow, and there it is!!!🙄 ...Your insinuation that someone's "real world" listening experience with something you've clearly NEVER heard is in fact them just "consuming and spending a lot of money" has ZERO to do with physics, but it really does give away the game about "you" and that obvious "chip on your shoulder" you have with expensive gear...Goodbye.
