The history of jazz can be told through the stylistic evolution of its pianists. The swing era made them more refined and virtuosic in their search for new harmonic, rhythmic and melodic textures. Ignasi Terraza was inspired by the style of the great Art Tatum and Teddy Wilson to put forward his own version of Billy Strayhorn’s Lush Life and a selection of songs by George Gershwin.
Billy Strayhorn (1915-1967):
0:00 Lush life
George Gershwin (1898-1937):
6:08 Medley: The Man I Love - Love is here to stay - Embraceable you - I've got Rhythm
