Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful girlfriend Mariana for eight years now.
Together Mariana, my father Clinton and myself, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!

That's a nice little farm. Lovely variety of fruit on the well-tended land. Interesting in-village house, too. It'll be a project to bring to contemporary comforts, but the structure seems very good condition. It'd be cool to see the finished remodel in a village with many amenities. Very nice opportunities.

I’ve just begun looking into Portugal as a possible retirement home. I love these farm properties! The “1951 rules” determine the habitability of farm structures. From what I’ve learned, that farm structure would be classified as an agricultural support structure, making it uninhabitable, and you would be denied permission to add bathrooms or a kitchen. It’s not a house. Like I wrote, I’m a beginner, but that rule is extremely important to understand, which I may, or may not!😎 This is the first video from this channel I’ve seen. I’m encouraged by the comments about him only doing videos of habitable properties, and I’ll definitely watch more!😎

That is really a nice little farm, manageable and productive. Thank you for showing Orca, there are a number of properties in that area and I was wondering what the town was like. Oh and the food and wine, delicious. I've seen your video where you state that you don't use pesticides on your farm which I love. I was wondering if you had any knowledge about pesticide use on large orchards like the one near the farm. I would imagine that for profitability, the big farms would spray to minimize crop loss. It would be a shame to move to a piece of what appears to be paradise only to find out the surrounding area is doused in chemicals. Take care.

Seems quite reasonable, the property could essentially pay for it self @ 300-500/month with sheep. 1300sqftslap 4" you'd just be paying a small difference in having a house with a view. $200usd house build. Seems like nice place.

From your experience: These type of farms have a warehouse or other type of permit. Whch has strict limits on how long you can stoy on the property. In your region how difficult is it to convert to a habitation license? Do they all need to have a project submitted with architectural services? 🤔 So someone could work out a bundle price live in the village apply for a "airbnb" license for a cool "farm stay" vacation offering 😮🤔👍

I've seen Joseph state before that he only does videos on properties that have been looked into and have habitation licenses.
