And no, I'm not saying that 'stealing like an artist' is bad or invalidates your work, but saying he's the author of the symbol is not true. I wouldn't even say his version is the most universally recognizable symbol either; that would be the cross.

Once again, he did not create the actual symbol as it predates him by thousands of years. Literally any documentary would tell you this... Not to mention that emblem has only been around since the 1920s (100 years), the cross has been an iconic symbol for thousands upon thousands of years. The multitude of people in the past and present who have seen/recognize the cross over the other symbol is huge. Yes his emblem is very effective and striking, it still doesn't mean he created the symbol.
