Ahh! Thank you for checking it out! I really like this poem. The lines in the first stanza, "stop all the clocks,' I interpret as an attempt to stop time (this stanza particularly speaks of silence and time). The unrealistic mentions in the poem, such as the mention of the aeroplanes scribbling "he is dead," really emphasise the emotion. The mention of doves is also very interesting, as some doves are represented as pure or peaceful, as is the mention of ordinary things grieving despite there being no connection there. I like the sort of loss of direction felt in the lines, "He was my north, my south, my east, and my west." They seem to be lost emotionally. Overall, death is sometimes unexpected and therefore painful and can elicit extreme emotional responses, like in this poem, which expresses that the person wants the world to cease to exist. I appreciate your take on this! Thank you for sharing!
