It took me at least 15 mins to get into the mansion, because I got waaay to freaked out by the (basically) weeping angels at the front door.

It took me by surprise, and genuinely scared me. I can't believe I got more scared in A Hat In Time than in any actual horror game.

I'll be honest, I don't understand why Mario Odyssey is considered the better game. Sure it has more polish, but it's also so uncreative. If we wanna compare a hat in time to a 3D Mario, why don't we pick one of the good ones? (which is pretty much every other one)

Tbh I don't mind it, atleast it won't be mainstream and run it down to the ground due to the expectations of the sudden massive fanbase being so elevated that gears for breakfast couldn't cope up with it.

Cuphead's gameplay isn't that revolutionary or interesting at all. The thing that the game has really going for it is the visuals, the music, and the bosses.

Ben Link No offense but I'm pretty sure no one praises Cuphead for being revolutionary in anything aside from it's aesthetic. I'm quite sure people praise it for how polished its gameplay is.

Ben Link It's not revolutionary, but IMO it's definitely interesting. Have you played it? The super tight hitboxes, great collision detection, creative boss structure, and very low margin for error forces you to take risks and formulate different strategies for each stage of the fight. You can't just rely on twitch skill. You need to think.

I have played it. And true, I agree. But I'm not someone who think's the game play makes it interesting, but it is very polished.

Yeah, I played YL (though I admittedly didn't complete it because I got bored). I don't think it's sinful of a game but a lot of it felt really mundane and elongated. I also have a pretty poor attention span so games that give you too much free space without a general direction to follow clash with my tastes a lot I guess. I do think the game deserves me picking it up again to properly form an opinion on it, but right now it just feels like a watered down platformer to me.

It sucks you didn't like it, but understandable, the game definitely has noticeable flaws and a bunch of things that I know some people like and some don't. I'd love to see a review of some kind if you ever do go back and finish the game though.

I'd love to see a review, but as for right now, I feel that the comment you made toward the end of the vid is arguable. I'm not saying your argument is invalid; far from it, your argument is fine but you have to also take into account that they made the game because the work that they were doing on the third entry in the Banjo series was shut down
