Love to be that guy, but ,"my friend and I" is incorrect in this case. It is, "my friend and me." They really don't do enough to teach this, but the easiest way to remember this is to remove the other person. You wouldn't say, "He was super nice and had a drink with I." You would say, "He was super nice and had a drink with me." Adding your friend back to the scenario doesn't change I/me, thus "my friend and me."

Im old school outlaw trucker from way back. I'll never forget when me and bunch of other drivers was in brass monkeys shop in Mississippi one saturday afternoon when this song was popular. We were all tinkering with our rigs, had all of our radios tuned in to same station. Funky cold medina was blasting, we was all singing and cutting up, brass monkey came out of his office hollering. Whats that dumbass singing about a fuckin coleman heater for? 😂😂😂 We lost it man.
