Funky UK House Mix on MODEL 1 PlayDifferently Mixer

Dance to house music with me under the bridges of Manchester's Castlefield Bowl. This set was inspired by my time living in the UK meeting local artists such as Instinct Burnski out at gigs. I also mixed in some tracks from classic house legend Stacey Pullen and Sally C Berlin, as well as CID and ODK from my hometown of Miami. (Full Track List below:)
This set was mixed on the MODEL1 PlayDifferently Mixer by Allen & Heath using Traktor and a K2. This setup helps create a high energy mix with up to four tracks looping at the same time. I hope you like it!

Hey! Nice mix…i’m listening to all your mixes, very good selections and the way you mix is superb. Great job! How you feel about Model1 mixer? I’m struggling to choose between Model1 and Pioneer V10. But i feel like Model1 has a soul inside the box. I’m asking you because i see that you started using the Model1 and i really need opinion from professionals. Thanks!

Hi Daniel! Thank you for the compliments 😊 Regarding the mixer, it depends what you want to use it for. The V10 is great because it has six channels and already has a sound card built in. You can plug your laptop into it directly without an extra interface. The effects are also amazing with two different FX panels. With the MODEL 1, you need to buy external hardware for delay, reverb, etc or use Traktor FX or map a midi controller to Ableton. The MODEL 1 is cool because it has filters and frequency cut/boost instead of a normal EQ but the V10 is top of the line and more practical. You’ll have more opportunities to play on the V10 at clubs than the MODEL 1. Hope this helps!

@@kiqidj thanks a lot! I’m prepared to get external audio interface …Antelope Zen Tour Synergy Core and i’m also using traktor and ableton with push3. I’m still thinking about Model1 with the filters analog warm sound and sculpting thing of frequencies …but as you said there are many oportunitiea with V10 ( i know ia a great mixer ) thas has everything you need despite the thing that is huge.

Could I bring my own equipment to clubs, or are there some that do not accept this and I have to use their equipment? I'm just starting out and asking. Thank you very much for the guidance.

Hi Daniel, you can still use the V10 with Traktor and the Push. My friend has a similar setup also with an RMX-1000 although that’s not necessary… At the beginning of your dj career it’s customary to use the club equipment. At least until you’re getting booked to tour and the promoters ask you for a DJ rider. For that reason, I rarely get to use my MODEL 1 at clubs. Only once so far in my entire career. Also, which genre of music do you play?

I truly appreciate the guidance you've provided. It helps me a lot, and I will earnestly heed your recommendations. Thank you very much! I like to play tech house/progressive, sometimes I bring some Afro into stage and melodic techno even techno but not the hardcore one, it depends on what kind of party I'm playing at. I love to bring my own sounds and productions from Ableton to enhance the tracks... still learning and practicing... just a beginner. I've been playing some private parties and corporate ones with my Traktor S8 controller. An upgrade is on the way, and I think I'll choose the V10 mixer …even ( It will be funny ) that i feel like i wish the Model1 more than the V10 😂 is like it has a soul inside with that analog sound and filters 🥹
