The kicker had already taken a step towards the ball and then prepared again so Peter Stringer was perfectly allowed to charge the ball or in this case pick it up because it was a conversion

I don't understand the O'Connor kick. Moving his arm down did not indicate he had commenced his approach, so the other guy should not have started his charge. I suppose it's the Barbarians though...

Munt Tube that's close but not the law mate, the law in its exact words " As soon as the kicker makes a move to kick, the opponents may charge." If your clearly ready to kick ( you've done your paces and are standing still aiming) but begin adjusting your body to line up that counts as starting your approach, peace x
