This channel is awesome. It has a definite oldschool feel and no BS film style.

It’s so funny how a modern chassis looks with the old body’s!! Back in the day drivers laid back in the seat. A lot of them couldn’t even see over the injector hat but because aerodynamics where so bad they lived and died by frontal area. Now days driver sit up right in the car and a modern green house is moved farther aft to clear the roll cage. When they mount the older style body’s on the modern chassis they have to raise the rear end to clear the cage. That’s why the body’s have so much rake. The thing I liked best about the 70-80s floppers was how low the body sat to the ground and the wheel blisters it took to get them that low. I remember my father telling me he never sees the big end and if he did he knew to turn in to it🤣 them cheese wedge body’s have to kill mph

Love seeing Andy Mears there from Lubbock, TX. Two really successful Drag Racers from here some of you may have heard of. Kenny Bernstein and Raymond Beadle. Way to Go Andy!

Man, I WISH I had the money along w/my dad & his buddy Eddie doing the tuning. I would DESTROY most of the nostalgia cars out there. They built BB/GD's from the frame up that ran low 7's in the 1/4mi w/a cast iron 392 Hemi block & a 6-71 blower. ON GAS. They worked for a chassis shop off season for free to pay for their new chassis for their car. Back when brains beat money. I remember hanging in the pits and riding in the push truck when I was 5 or 6yrs old. Miss those days.

They have so much rear gear in them for the 1/8 mile the tires barely smoke on the burn out😲

Also, if you're going to do a "Nostalgia" car, the body should actually be similar to those run then IMO. You wanna see an accurate 68' Camaro? Check out Bruce Larson's cars. Also, Poverty Stricken's Monza bodies were FAR more accurate than most I saw here. And I watched Jungle & Kosty match race back then w/those bodies.
