Making EVERY Mario Odyssey Capture a Spirit Battle for Super Smash Bros Ultimate

The highlight feature of Super Mario Odyssey are the 52 captures in the game which all give Mario unique abilities in order to collect moons. Since ech capture in Mario Odyssey is so much fun and unique, I thought it’d be fun to create spirit battles for each of them for super smash bros ultimate. Spirits in smash ultimate are used to represent characters not on the roster by creating special fights to resemble the spirit. So join me as I make spirit battle for all 52 mario odyssey captures for super smash bros ultimate

So I made a comment about this being the last video before the moon ranking, but sadly that is now outdated because guess who got the stupid virus!! Yeah so I can’t record audio for that for like 5 days and I don’t want to go a whole month without uploading, so there will be more videos before the moon ranking. I am very sorry everyone but I’ll be working hard at it as soon as I’m back to being fully healthy!

Even before this series was a thing, I loved to think about what it would be like if my favorite non-game characters were spirit battles in SSBU somehow even though I knew it'd never happen for real. So I'd love to see a video on NASB and MultiVersus characters as spirits!

Personally would’ve used a Super Leaf for the Paragoomba/bones spirits since those captures usually maintain rather than gain height

why not make the Volbonian a Koopaling who spams Ftilt and Utilt? They're forks after all. Guess you'd have to change the poles in New Donk City too but like still.

For the Sherm spirit, the ROB could have used the submarine gun instead as it is the most "bullet" like gun in the game

For the Cheep Cheep, you need to specify that they can swim indefinitely as well (also for the Shiverian Cheep Cheep) For the RC Car, you could make it so you have to defeat the Kazuya to win. For Shiverian Cheep Cheep, A the swimming indefinitely thing B keep the stage on the part of Iceberg with water, Stage Hazards off. For Gushen, guess what? Swim indefinitely! For the Dino Meat, make it so Kirby doesn't move in general. Also give him Slow Super Armor to reference the little moving you can do with it. In fact, put SSA on all the things you only capture and move for a moon (Cactus, Pine Tree, BOWSA Statue) Also, I made spirits for the Fire and Poison Piranhas. Fire Piranha will be on Dreamland Battlefield, Piranha Plant x3, all equipped with Spicy Curry, rarely move. Poison Piranha will be on Mario Bros Battlefield, Piranha Plant x3, rarely move, with a poison floor to reference how the poison stays.

For the RC car one, I think it'd be cool if it was a pokemon trainer to represent that you control a guy rather than the car itself. I think the pokemon could be squirtle doing that move where it goes into its shell and slides across the platform

@Odyssey Central 9:00 remember in the Minecraft spirits video and what you did for the guardian spirit you made Kirby have Rob's copy ability. For the Shavarian racer You could have Kirby start with JigglyPuffs Neutral B. Roll out is similar to how the Shavarian racer can roll from the game.

I feel like another condition that could have been done for the T-Rex spirit is to survive until the timer runs out, referencing how you can only use it for a certain amount of time.

Imo K. Rool would fit the T-Rex a lot better as his design feels a lot closer than Yoshi's. I also think adding Heavy Armor could work as it's notoriously hard to stun the Deep Woods' T-Rex

I think Volbonans should’ve been Luigis who prefer side specials, cuz their lankiest reminds me of Luigi. Plus the Side special can stick him into a wall. I also think Ty-Foo should’ve been Jigglypuff to match the curly hair better.

Maybe you can make a spirit battle for every Mario boss. Also, I'm pretty sure Petey Piranha and Birdo don't have spirit battles, Petey Piranha is understandable because he's evolved from Nipper Plant, but I guess they forgor about Birdo. Also, Dry Bones for Smash.

I think I would of gone with Dedede instead of Kirby for Ty-foo since he’s bigger, a penguin (ty-foos are mainly in Snow Kingdom), and has a cap similar to the Santa hat (plus there’s a lot of Kirby spirits lmao) Besides of that nitpick great video! The MARIO Letters was an especially creative spirit

For the giant fist boss, maybe have some invisible Bayonettas that prefer forward smashes since those involved actual giant fists? And maybe for the gushins, inkling since they’re both squids?

Glydon being on that stage also works for a different thing. Glydon to me is linked with three kingdoms. Sand the least, but Wooden and Lost most. So the forest feel fits for both

I think for the shiverian racer spirit could make kirby equipped with a jigglypuff hat. While this hasn't been done ingame, you have made the guardian spirit making a blue kirby with rob hat.(or maybe just jigglypuff)

The Lava stage in Castle Siege can not have lava floors because the platform tilts and lava floors can only be on flat still surfaces

11:58 Robin and Isabelle would be inaccurate cause for some language they don't have the same name! For example Robin is called Daren in French,Daraen in Spanish Dutch and Italian as for Isabelle she is called Marie in French, Canela in Spanish, Melinda in Dutch and Fuffi in Italian. So the best solution is to found a character with the same first letter for EVERY language cause Robin and Isabelle is their name in the English and Nederlands version of the game (like for example Roy for the R and Ike for the I)

I guess steel diver is a little closer to sherms than ray gun, jigglypuff has rollout to better represent shiverians, even though it doesn't have a white alt, and lastly, statues could be made steel to kinda look more like stone although stone doesn't shine like it.

Technically Picture Match (Mario) doesn't take place above Peach's Castle. According to the toad standing near the rocket, it actually takes place in Cloud Kingdom. Yeah, I know it's weird.
