今日のフランスは、パリ近郊の街シャルトルです。なんと言っても173枚のステンドグラスが見どころのシャルトル大聖堂。
フランスに数多くある大聖堂の中でも、これほど多くのステンドグラスが装飾されているのを見たことは記憶に浮かばないほど、実に多くの色彩が、大聖堂の外からの光を浴び、色彩の楽曲を奏でています。
特にシャルトル・ブルーと言われている彩度の高い青はガラス工芸の巨匠ルネ・ラリックがこの青色を確認するために何度も足を運んだと、偶然お会いしたルネ・ラリック氏の孫であるマダムからお伺いしました。
他の大聖堂の青と次回見比べてみたいと思います。
丁度今回は結婚式を挙げている瞬間に遭遇、大聖堂の美しいパイプオルガンの演奏も聴くことができました。
