This is the first boss the rider kills with his gun rather than his sword.

I like that in the cutscenes of this fight, it really gives the impression the flame is completely out matched by the rider, and that’s probably the reason he wasn’t a guardian like the others

When I got the dlc, I was worried the Flame would just be some crazy super boss, but I was pleasantly surprised. Flame really earns the right to hang with the other bosses. He actually stands out from the other bosses and provides a fresh experience without being over the top. ...And then Bernard shows up as a bonus boss and is exactly what I feared. Except now it's great because we get a normal and super boss

I hope the developers make a DLC based on how the Rider was beaten by the Hand and the others.

Why in the world are the cutscenes exclusive to the X1? It's so mind boggling. It's almost like releasing incomplete content.

Sad that us PS4 players don't get the cutscenes, but I'm happy enough to just fight The Flame (and Bernard!). This guy is a beast in Furier, I love it.

7:42 i love how Raider is fighting almost as if showing off. At this point he is a master who surpassed all previous bosses and knows what hes doing its all about the flare. Fast, high risk and deadly mastery, thats what this character is all about, visible resemblance to Afro Samurai

Story-wise, this boss is very out of place here. Ryder is supposed to contemplate a change of heart after The Beat. Also his motivation is somewhere between "you fucked up my face" (The Scale) and "you fucked up my friends" (The Hand), which we're past at this point in the game.

So I guess this is what "Shambles" was gonna be used for...

Died so many times to this chump. Love the fight, but it was really tough. I felt like a champ when I beat him and thought it couldn't get any worse. Then I met Bernard...

People say he is out of place and Rider is very out character, but, here my 2 cents. The Flame was one the first soldiers to fight The Rider. Losing friends and companions in the battle. When the Rider was finally captured, he probably felt like shit for not being able to save anyone and so his hatred for the Rider grew. He wanted to be stronger, so with a exoskeleton he could find the means of havings arms, again, and to get even stronger. This time being able to protect others. He wasn't a Guardian perhaps either there wasn't place, maybe the Guardians had already being chosen and sent to the World Prisons or maybe he wasn't allowed to be one. Fact is, he decided to wait in the Tower that seemed to belong to the Rider, knowing that is he did escape, he would go there. So, he would wait. And the day came. Now, on the Riders behavior, my honest though is that perhaps the Eiders simply tried to ignore the things he felt in his escape. Ignoring his change of heart because he had a mission to complete, and Riders aren't suppose to have this thought. They are to complete their mission and end of story. So, he tried to forget about what the Guardians made him feel and just get the mission over it. At least it would be smooth sailing from there. Or so he thought as the Flame FINALLY had his revenge. One more obstacle for the Rider, and he had no patience for it. He had a mission to complete, so he would do what he must for it. He already took lives before, what difference would one more make?... Lots. Notice hos expression after he finish the Flame as he was going up the elevator. He had an expression that seemed... Bad for what he did to the old man. It was obvious he couldn't just ignore what he was feeling and what his "heart" felt. Guilt. But, he tried once again to ignore this feelings and focus on the mission. Until finally, when the moment came for him to choose the fate of the Free World, he made his choice... Also, maybe he was cocky because deep inside he was just done with the old man and tried to get some enjoyment of the fight. One more sign the humanity he developed was still there.

It would be intersesting to have the son of The Hand show up many years later in the timeline. He could be a good boss

To this day i still wonder why was this bot cut from the main game. Especially now that i know that he actually had finished cutscenes too. My best guess is that Rider doesn't seem to be "in character" during this bossfight. After the Beat Rider is compromised, divided on what he is. Yet in this bossfight he looks so... Cold-blooded. Absolutely 100% focused. Which is in conflict with how he should be after The Beat. It looks too out of place. That's just my theory on why this happened, but i think its a fairly plausible one. Hell, i would do that if i felt like its justified and makes the game better.

Add this DLC to Origin version.

I ended up getting this on my Series X so I could experience the game with The Flame integrated into the main story. I do kind of wish the Onnamusha DLC could make its way to Xbox since it would make it the best version in my opinion.

I feel like the person playing was holding back greatly for them this way too easy and they were just playing around if they wanted to they could be him even faster and probably take no damage but this is also on normal difficulty he probably is a challenge on furier

How do you parry so much crap so easy? I could never get parrying down in this game I'd do it as soon as I heard the swoosh sound and that was to late I'd do it as soon as I saw the spark and that was to early I'd do it when the spark lit up and I'd still get hit

ok so this happened before he went off the earth for the motherbase...so i believe that the flame was one of the soldiers in the fight led by The Hand and even in the last phase he named some of his friends who died trying to capture him but its not that important is it? whats important is we have a lot of questions about AFTER THE ENDING which shall never be answered . i truly loved this game

man, I can see why they "cut" this boss, he only has like 10 voicelines and the same "aggressive grunt #2" one gets reused every 7 seconds
