Wanted to show the process of powder coating Furitek's new Olympus titanium SCX24 tube chassis and while we wait for the paint to cue we can go over Rampart and Scythe V2 chassis.

I a waiting on delivery of an Olympus chassis from MOFO RC. Thank you for the info concerning the hole spacing! I had a Fat Girl and loved it, modded w/4WS, Deadbolt rear links front and back and a Surpass motor. I spent a lot more $ on chassis that did not perform as well. Again, thank you sir!

Nice job bro always wondered how powder coating was done

Its much easier than even I ever thought. A while back I had to do a bit of it for a friend and just said what the heck! Why are people paying to get this done when its so easy! But then again, it does get expensive if you go for bigger parts because of the need of larger oven or heating lamps depending on your work area. But, for small parts its deffinetly achievable by most with a small investment to start of. And you saw, its extremely forgiving😅.

Damn! I love the ano purple!!! I'd have just clear PC'd it!!! 😁 Love the look and that it's Ti! Not in the budget of a newb, but maybe some day!

Yes, it was hard to let go of it😅, but, I needed to make a video showing you could powdercoat because of the metal being able to take the heat so I took the hit so you wouldnt have to! Lol

@@Gamyrc Fair enough! 😁 It really is nice looking and that blue is nice too, I'd admit. Just curious as too the 'tube'(rod) thickness of the frame? I've got a thought in my head to TIG weld or TIG braze some 1/8" to 3/16" SS rod into a cage. I was thinking of trying to use recycled bicycle spokes too. But that's down the road once I get more knowledge about these trucks. 🙂👍
@Gamyrc2 жыл бұрын
@@wingnutbert9685 The ones on this cage are about 1.5mm thick. Its why the weight is so low, not just because of it being titanium.
@wingnutbert96852 жыл бұрын
@@Gamyrc Thanks very much! Agree, but also the cage rods can be that small because it's Ti. :) Interesting to see how it holds up to the shock of rolling down hills and landing on rocks. Ti can be pretty interesting when it fails. Thought this small won't be as spectacular as a mountain bike frame fail.

Niiice, love the changes, much needed. To bad I just bought a V1 a few weeks ago 😆
@Gamyrc2 жыл бұрын
My bad😅. It just takes so long to get all these made and we fall behind with all these changes because if it. But I for sure took as many of our customers requests for improvements and adapted them in as best as I could while maintaining the "base" design so it wouldnt just be a whole new chassis. V1 is still bad ass so no worries😉😁.

@@Gamyrc Its awesome that you listen to the community, its one of the many reasons I still buy furitek. I'll end up with a V2 anyway lol. Much love Gamy & Furitek

How about you flip it upside down and attach your wires to the skid mounting holes and rear shock mount holes? Or front and rear shock mount holes? I'm imagining you'd be less likely to touch the bars that way. Just my 2 cents....

Yes, I have no idea why I went with how I did it in this video. My other chassis I did that way. May have been the whole trying to beat the rain situation lol.

I don't like that the center screw holes are not used to install the skidplate. I wish they had done better.
@Gamyrc Жыл бұрын
The holes were made to only use outermost holes on the skid and dowel. This way the same chassis can use all three link lengths from different scx24 models. It was a solution for those that had multiple models so they could use the same cage for different settings.

What skid plate are you using. Can’t find one that lines up for the chassis
@Gamyrc2 жыл бұрын
Any scx24 skid. The chassis uses only dowel holes for skid and external holes. The holes in between arent used and that why it seems it doesnt line up.
@ortegabean2 жыл бұрын
@@Gamyrc dowel holes? You mean like the the links are the only one that should line up then. So usually it would be 4 screws on each side but only 2 now?
@Gamyrc2 жыл бұрын
@@ortegabean Yes, just omit the two holes in between outer holes and dowel.
