"Ideals are Peaceful, History is Violent". Words that will haunt you after this movie. Join us as we react to Fury. A story about an American Tank Crew in Germany WW2. The brutality in this movie is shocking, and left us wondering how Men could do these things to other men. Enjoy Fam!

The Tiger that attacked them is the last functional Tiger (Tiger 131)in the world. It is part of The Tank Museum.

Vote of confidence supplied by those five P-51s roaring overhead toward the front. Those B-17 contrails in such huge masses were American; they were headed for Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, any manufacturing center to melt the areas into the ground. Thanks for some useful tidbits of military info I'd not known before. Wonderful reaction by you two fellows! Thanx!

The scene where they show US troops beating up that SS Soldier is based on a photograph of one that was captured and beat up by the Canadians
@CocktailFlicks
@CocktailFlicks Жыл бұрын
Oh, I didn't know that. I can't say I blame the Canadians, or anyone for that matter. The SS were crazy, and murderous. You can see in the movie how they bring out all the hatred for their deeds. Thanks for sharing, I figured that had to be a true reaction given the SS reputation.

Good review, just wanted to let you know about something you said near the beginning about "a mistake". When Norman informed the remains of Fury's crew, you said it was a mistake. Sorry, but no. Every soldier goes through Basic training where they were given training on rifle, grenade and bayonet. No matter what your job would later be such as infantry, tanker, supply, cook, medic or clerk, you knew the basics of fighting. This was so in case the need arose anyone can be used as replacement where needed, sort of on the job training, such as what Norman went through. If you want to see a great movie that extensively uses tanks, check out the classic "Battle of the Bulge".

The white horse in the beginning scene is some symbolism. Got all this death & destruction everywhere , and then u see this white horse riding in the middle of it. Which represents 1 of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse. This 1 would obviously be the Pale Horse, which represents death

I know I've asked what you're favorite war movie was in a past reaction. However, If focused down to WW2, what would you're answer be? We would love to hear it!

That is a though question. Fury is defenetly raking up there for me. I also loved hawkshawridge. T-34 is a special gem, because there are no as many movies from a russian perspective. I dont know if you count Band of brothers, because it is a movie series but that would be my all time favourite. I like it over pacific. Episode 4 of Band of brothers is my baised favourite cause its taking place in my home country of the Netherlands.

Heard there was a scene cut where brad Pitt tells Norman that didn’t make the cut but basically the scars on his back are because he got in a car crash with his wife and kids in the car it was his fault and so they said either you can go onto military or you’re going to prison and so he chose the military. also the reason he speaks German is because his mother is German and his dad is American . He was born in Germany and his mother dies during the war because the SS attacks the family because they find out he’s American soldier so they murder his whole family from his German side including his mom who was his favorite person I also love the symbolism at the end of the movie where Norman gets saved by the same innocence that war forced him to give up kind of paralleling, the beginning and end of the movie

At this point in the war the SS had to fill their ranks as they could. That soldier was obviously Norman's counterpart. A clerk typist thrown into the SS. The German grenades relied more on concussive effect whereas the American grenades had the desicated body that fragmented and shredded.

I was curious about the grenades, they looked so different by country, and use. Thanks for sharing.

Germany didn't go on a total war footing until some time into the war. The leadership remembered the trouble from that in WWI, and the troubles of the Weimar Era, and so did the people. So, they tried to have a war without going full war economy at the start. The way they tried to supply the war in the first years was ridiculously haphazard and they paid for it. The aircraft contrails were heavy bomber formations on the Allied side. The smaller ones coming in were the German fighters. The bombing was not as militarily effective as they had hoped, but it did distract and wear down the Luftwaffe and cost the Germans a lot of guns and men. That is they had to use a lot of guns and their support crews, etc., trying to shoot down bombers when some of those guns could have been at the front shooting tanks. The SS had a fearsome reputation, and some units deserved said rep. However, there are accounts by German troops and officers from even early in the war about many SS units performing poorly. Highly spirited usually, but not always the best tactically often taking heavy losses that weren't necessary.

Yeah, The Nazi's made a lot of logistical mistakes that cost them dearly in the war. they had hundreds of thousands of troops stationed in Finland far away from the fronts to protect their ore deposits, and glycerin plants that were never threatened. They bought Britain's schemes time and time again, which led to successful beach landings in Normandy and Italy, and Hitler basically didn't believe his advisors about troop movements until it was too late. They really shot themselves in the foot, and Russia rampaging through Europe all the way to Berlin didn't help either. Thanks for clarifying what was going on with the bombers and fighters, I wondered what was going on there. As to the SS, I expected a lot more from them, but it goes to your point that while fanatical, their performance was not up to par as you would expect. Great points, Thanks for sharing!

I read the remarks of a German soldier who said that the Americans used their tanks and infantry stupidly. It' done right, here. But, he said that typically the American tanks would be too far in front of their infantry, allowing the Germans to keep their heads down in their holes and let the tanks roll over them. Then they would pop up when the infantry was close and decimate them.
@CocktailFlicks
@CocktailFlicks Жыл бұрын
That's a chilling thought. I wonder if they were trained to keep their distance from the rear of the tank, or if that's just the way things worked out. Either way, I hope we don't make critical errors like this anymore all things considered.

@@CocktailFlicks Yeah, America's battle doctrine was basically being revised as they went. We learned as much as we could from what the Allies experienced which is how we came up with the M4 Sherman tank. Unlike the Panther or Tiger, I & II, the Sherman was a medium tank designed for infantry support, not tank battles. They dealt with tanks primarily by operating in groups, calling in air strikes or artillery support, or if a tank destroyer happened to be near-by they'd call one of those. Fury is an M4E8 "easy eight" which was an up-gunned version of the original M4 with a 76mm gun instead of a standard 75mm. Even so, in tank-on-tank battles it was only better than German heavy tanks in terms of logistics: they were way easier for the crew to repair and service on the go, versatile enough to operate in almost all terrains, easily upgradeable in the field, and frankly, there was just more of them than the Germans could ever hope to compete with, especially with their manufacturing industry collapsing and resources running out.
@sike2399
@sike2399 27 күн бұрын
German's thinking it's stupid for tanks to outdistance their infantry is definitely speaking from experience since that was the Achilles Heel of the Blitzkrieg: German tanks supported by Stukas would penetrate deep into enemy territory and then be forced to halt because their fuel, spare parts, ammo and infantry were MILES behind them. The French realized this during the Battle of France and attacked the anorexic supply chain. It didn't work, but it spooked the Wehrmacht General Staff enough that they ordered a halt until the support vehicles caught up which, in turn, led to Dunkirk. That and Goering wanted the Luftwaffe to have all the credit for finishing the invasion so the BEF only had to dodge mostly ineffectual attacks from dive-bombers that were gradually picked off by the RAF.
