We were watching a movie one time I don't remember the name of it but it it cut from like a dinner scene to something else and it was really confusing from then on the whole movie was confusing. Yep. I was left confused when it ended, felt wayy too short.
@jessm74826 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I felt that they left out a lot of important information in the final cut. I always wondered why Wardaddy had some sort of connection to Norman, and turns out in the original script apparently Wardaddy had a brother named Norman that shared a lot of similarities with the kid, however he died. So that explains a lot of why Wardaddy protected him multiple times and such. Plus in the original there was a lot more background such as why Wardaddy could speak German, and apparently his mother was born there or he had some type of ancestry so his connection to the war was more personal. Overall I loved the movie, despite the criticism such as it’s lack of accuracy etc, but I felt they did it a big injustice to leave out so much backstory from the characters. Would have made a much more gripping film and possibly could have been 1 of the best in that genre.

@@absolutelydisgusted8665 Every historical movie in existence sacrifices some historical accuracy during filmmaking process. Every one. The best are "mostly" accurate with few inaccuracies which enhance the viewing experience. That's the way it works. It's a movie, not a documentary. Saving Private Ryan and the beloved Band of Brothers are not entirely accurate either. The Tiger skirmish, a favourite punching bag for entitled internet experts is a prime example. Yes, it ignores few basic facts like gun penetration at this distance and presents the infamous "one Tiger equals 4 Shermans" allegory. And so what? The scene is suspenseful, well paced and audio-visually impressive. It works. It works because it uses just the right amount of history coupled with a bit exaggerated but still respectful movie fiction. Would a "perfectly historically accurate" version of this event (whether the Tiger wins or loses) be as interesting? And a last note: strange shit happens in warfare. At some point an M8 Greyhound armoured car managed to take out the King Tiger by shooting at its ass.
@huechang71017 жыл бұрын
I think the majority of all deleted scenes should have been left in. It brings more side info on each character as well as allows us to bond with them more. (They just show Norman how to survive war in their own tough way)

Devin I prefer historical fiction anyways. It allows for more creative and interesting stories that still adhere to the context of the designated place and time.
