Got something planned for the future and just trying to flesh it out. You’ve given me some great ideas to deal with some issues I’m having with Fusion. Sketching and lofting works fine up to a point for me, but it fails in certain situations.

Hello, many thanks for your videos. A good sound/picture quality and at the same time a video filled with knowledge and a pleasant way of explaining is a rare combination. Do you have any tips in case you have only photos as a reference and therefore have problems with the exact origin? I have found the top, front and side view of my model, but I find it difficult to line them up exactly and especially the resulting sketches.

Hi, first thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have a 3 view of an airplane that contains the cuts or transversal views of the body at different locations along the body. If I want to make the body using those cuts what approach would you recommend, creating a series of sketches for each cut and then lofting them?. Thanks in advance.

how that works with sweep i always get the Error Message Error: The path is not smooth. Try modifying the path so that all edges are connected with tangent continuity. To create a swept shape with a sharp edge, try using multiple sweeps.

great tutorial! im having one problem though, whenever I select the same things as you do for the sweep, it says ''Error: The path is not smooth. When i tried to do it on the f3d file that you shared in the video description, it gave me the same error. How could I fix this? Thanks in advance.

You have 2 options, 1) Do multiple sweeps. 2) Make a filer at the corner so you won't have a sharp edge.

In 2130 you say we should select opnimiced in the mirroring feature, whats the diference between the other two?

I hope this will answer your question: 1. optimized is the fastest. It uses some internal code that just patterns the faces of the feature. But, there are some limitations: The feature faces have to all land on the same face, and there are some cases (the most famous is patterning cuts around a cylinder, where this method fails. 2. Identical is next fastest. This method just extracts the tool body of the feature, patterns that tool body, then joins the results at the end. It can handle cases like the cutouts around a cylinder. 3. Adjust is the slowest. This method recomputes each instance of the feature almost as if it were a separate feature. This allows you to do things like pattern a feature with a To-Face extent, and have each instance of the pattern compute differently.

@@Fusion360NewbiesPlus yes sir I am trying to design in fusion 360 But without any canvas For example I have chosen a simple design like that of an das ugly stick nitro airplane design. But instead of takin any picture or canvas online I want to design just by the imagination or the ideas ia have in mind because I have seen the plane I know how it looks or the basic idea of the dimensions I have already. So i tried to draw it in f360. The basic fuselage of the plane but I have problems in how to taper the rectangle First I had drawn the base of the fuselage using lines then I tried to extrude it in the top direction to make it a 3d fuselage so I can work further to make the formers of the fuselage but the problem is my some lines are blue and some black on the base sketch so when I try to extrude it , it doesn't come out properly. If you please sir explain how to make simple fuselage based on rectangular shape with tapered tail without any canvas it would be a great help thanks for the reply .
