I appreciate your explanation of the three drawing planes, I too like to begin my drawings on the "XY" plane. One way to make this selection quicker is to hover your cursor over the lower center area of the canvas between the green and red lines. When you click this area it selects the "XY" plane, you can verify that you chose the correct plane by seeing the "view cube" rotate to "Top." The explanation of how to view the object using the view cube, mouse, scroll button, etc. is well done. Every artist takes pride in what they create by seeing it in different orientations.

Wow, what an amazing tutorial series. Your idea of teaching someone that has barely any previous knowledge of CAD/3D modelling and then posting it to a public channel like this is something you just don’t see on KZfaq. Thank you!

Thank you for your comment and encouragement. It’s true, it was a little daunting at first, because you never know how a person learns or responds to teaching, but Dan is such a good student and applies himself well. Glad this series is helping so many out there!

@@learnitalready so far the videos have been great. Definitely easy for a new comer. The patience you have with Dan is amazing. He’s doing such a great job I feel his tv monitor is hurting him. I’m currently on day 5 since I sorta have an idea I start with the homework and try to finish. Then I’ll watch the video to see where I struggled. Then after video I’ll delete everything and redo my work. The point feature is something I never self taught myself and it’s definitely an amazing feature. I normally would just drag circles and struggle to get them in the right spots haha. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the videos bring. Also I only found your channel because I wanted to add a parametric vice to my work area I got that going then I figured I see what else you have posted and omg so much to watch I can’t wait to learn

I am enjoying the format of this series with the student learning in the video. It's very much like me being a part of the class. I'll be following the series for sure. Just to share my background, I live in Australia and I'm a retired Motor Mechanic that moved to Plant operation in coal mines. My interest in Fusion 360 is in relation to my hobby of the last year or so of 3D Printing.

Hello again! I like this format and intend to follow along. However, I like my screen to look EXACTLY like yours, with the view cube and axes exactly the same. It seems to be important to me. I spend an inordinate amount of time trying to get this to look like it and of course, get frustrated, etc. Can you offer any advice? If I join the channel as a member do I get prompt response to my stupid questions? Do aluminum members get lower or less prompt service? I'm seriously interested.

Hello again 👋 Thanks for reaching out. First and foremost, you are not alone in feeling frustrated when not being able to figure things out. I am amazed to hear stories of ones like you that are pressing on and not giving up. Excellent job! If you join the channel as a member, I will always do my best to respond to your questions. Oftentimes I use questions from members as a basis for an entire tutorial if possible, or will talk about it at some point. Right now, we are still a relatively small channel and so I am able to respond to most comments. I can’t promise that I will respond to every question immediately, but I genuinely try to answer all questions (as you can see if you scroll through the comments of each video). If you become a Titanium member, we will definitely give your questions priority over anyone else and give a monthly shoutout to you on our videos. We truly appreciate that you are considering. Thank you immensely!
