Been using meshmixer for work for about 3 years (dental), trying to move on to do my own hobby related things with fusion 360, and man the feeling of how easy all this is. Texturing and such. It’s that kind of exhilaration where I just have to laugh. Thanks for the great instructions👌🏻

I'm trying to model brick fascia on a concrete panel. I can't emboss into it because that would remove engineered minimum distance. In trying to lay out the brick above the panel I'm going crazy. Crazier!

I am absolutely mesmerized by how you are able to smoothly glide and rotate your camera view. How did you do it? I've seen lots of tutorials demonstrating this but I haven't a clue how they do it.

They have this mouse colloquially called a space mouse that is kind of like a stick shift in a car. You grab it and it registers all of the movement, pan, tilt, rotation, etc.

You can do this with other objects but it works best on circular objects

this is great but i cant seem to work out how to apply that knurling to a middle face between to chamfered edges of the cylinder, is there a way to do that?
@avramplager1953
@avramplager1953 2 жыл бұрын
What you could do is use a series of torus objects that get sequentially bigger as you go from the bottom of the chamfer to the top of the chamfer. Let me know if you need further clarification. I'd be glad to dedicate a video to this if you want
@waynefilkins8394
@waynefilkins8394 Жыл бұрын
How would you do it if u just wanted the knurling on a specific part, like if you draw an oval or square on the side of the cylinder, and you just want that section to have knurling and not the rest?
@avramplager1953
@avramplager1953 Жыл бұрын
For that, I'd recommend extruding the edge of the section you want knurled and then subtracting that extrusion from the knurling setup and then subtracting the adjusted knurling setup from the cylinder

As soon as I perform the first mirror at 2:50, I'm left with HALF of my first coil. Edit: So I had to instead make a new body with the knurling, then CUT the main cylinder using them as cutting tools.

@@avramplager1953 I mean, make a more complex surface from the elevation texture on the existing surface. Any model like a vase. I am having problems with this in another editor. And I look at Fusion 360. What tools are there for this.
