Welcome to this Fusion 360 video.
Now if you like to learn how to go from the part design in Fusion 360 to the finished manufactured part, including the Fusion CAM, then this is the right place.
This is the vacuum plate that I made as a test for my MFT Table and it works quite well holding the parts during sanding.
If you like to make your own then this tutorial will help you design your own plate.
There are 2 video's where I show the function of the vacuum plate that I will link below.

There are many Fusion 360 (and other CAD system) videos out there. From basic to advanced, useless to fantastic! For the Nooby, it is hard to know which to choose. I found it helpful if the tutorial showed the design of an actual object, rather than a blur of elements, dimensions, constraints etc, without an clue as to why they were applied. I am reasonably at home with Fusion 360, but when I started, I found it best to stick with a presenter who had already demonstrated ability in other areas; - for instance if they had built a complex machine from their own Fusion 360 design. You have already "Ticked that box", so I will be here, awake and salivating, when you post another offering! 🤤 🥴 Many thanks again. 👍

Just watched this video. First, none of your videos are a "flop".. Always informative and well presented. I used Fusion 360 early on when I started CNCing and was novice then and still am a but really enjoyed learning and using the product. Then the licensing for hobby users, non commercial, changed and I stopped using the product and currently I'm using Alibre Design. Looking back I'm not sure I made the right decision but I can always go back..... Fusion does have a cleaner and more intuitive UI and all the design tools I would ever need. The other huge feature of Fusion is the integrated CAM.. Learning all the steps needed to make a simple part can be very daunting and takes a lot of patience and time.... OK, I've said enough. Nice work....

That is very interesting Peter, I too used the free version of Fusion and was totally mad when they changed the pricing. So I started using FeeCad and spend a good amount of hours learning the CAD side, just to find out that the CAM section (coming) from Fusion would not work out for me. I am a long time Vectric user so I went back to that and a lot of the aluminum cutting on my channel was done in just that. About 2 years ago I went back to Fusion and I am happy that I did albeit I hate the $550 last time. A friend of mine is using the free version of Fusion and he does a lot in it, and is happy using it that way. As always thank you for your comment !

One more thing I forgot to mention is the fact that Alibre Design does not have an integrated CAM option. So when I make a design I need to export it to an STL file which I then import into Meshcam which I have a love hate relationship with. I miss having a tightly coupled CAD/CAM product the makes the design and modify process a lot easier.

Yes I understand exactly what you mean. And I love the Fusion 360 adaptive clearing for larger jobs where I remove more material. So what I try to do is to come up with some money that I make with my machine that then pays for the Fusion renewal every year …. I tell myself it was for free 🙈🙈

Thank you, this tutorial is clear and useful, I need the auto comments to understand all your demonstration (my langage is not english, but I've understood everything !) I am a regular Fusion user fo 3 years and achieved a lot of simple projects for 3D printing and for CNCing. I spended a lot of time because a was totaly newbee in CAD software. I can say that my last projects where satisfying for me because the result was like i hoped at the first attempt. I have now to go further because my next projects need that i combine milling + laser engraving for some pieces and I also need to create some electronic PCB's. Your tutorial is great, I can assure you that I decovered a fews tips that will be usefull in my next projects. If you go further and show the machining of this project, for sure, I will learn a lot of other tips !

You are a brave man, CAD videos can often spark a lot of controversy. This is yet another fine video. I do have to say that I do not use F360, but rather FreeCad. It was interesting to follow along and say yup, yup, oh that was a nice feature and then finally where was? A bit like being a Chevy truck loyalist and being on a Ford dealership lot. Thanks again for the video.

Thank you Carl, yes I used FreeCAD as well. I did even an online class from someone at a university in Germany. From the drawing side of it it’s a great program for being free … however I realized that I took a wrong turn once I started to work with the CAM feature. However I told myself I will look at it again in a couple of years as it progresses constantly forward.

We need the cam knowledge! Cam is the hardest part of fusion, just like you mention that they reference chip load by a different name (optimal load). I don't care if there are other tutorials, I want to see yours.

I guess "we" all have our preferences on how we use certain programs such as F360. Though it's always good to see different approaches one is using... that way we all can learn. It's then up to the user to decide how he will design. In my opinion it's well explained tutorial. Thank you @JBWorx.

Thank you and yes you are correct there is no “one” way to go from A to B. As an example a feature oriented model has a a way bigger file. I just like to see the drawing space in front of me just like a sheet of paper it helps the to understand how everything goes together, especially if you start from scratch having nothing to go by.
