@@avocadotoast6369 I think after? If my memory serves me, LaBarbera became more faithful/loyal as the series went on. She kind of evolved from a trophy wife with Hermes because of his implied athletic past, to just an overall supportive and doting wife.

The whole thing is rather bizarre and is that for the sake of comedy/weird plot. It's weird that someone like Barbados Slim is so obsessed with one woman who already has a kid --- he doesn't seem like a guy that would have a problem getting another woman. And the wife responding to the doc saying it'll take one week for his body to get fixed: "Not soon enough, boy needs a daddy!" Isn't she just a skank at that point using her child as an excuse?

@@N4rha I should say that I don't mind weird/stupid things in comedy. This just makes the character of Hermes rather pathetic. I can only imagine that he really wants to spite Hermes but you are correct, it IS weird. If this was real I would say that exact thing. Again, I understand that this is comedy but it never hit me, back when, how despicable many of the characters were.

Actually it's the contrary, she is settling for Barberos when Hermes isn't available (or at least most of him), but when he is there, she immediately leaves Barbados for Hermes. Like, Barbados is the plan B.

@@francescapaladini5763 I do wonder if that isn't why Hermes puts up with it. Yeah, LaBarbara and Barbados are very blatantly attracted to each other. Yeah, whenever Hermes is unavailable (or even incapacitated) his wife is prepared to immediately drop him and move in with his greatest rival. But… Hermes always wins. Even as a severed head, he ultimately wins. Barbados Slim may be fitter, more conventionally attractive and better at limbo, but Hermes gets to go home each day knowing that he's married to Barbados's dream woman. Plus, barring this one specific area, he and LaBarbara are actually a pretty great couple. Like they get on really well, we rarely see them argue, they seem to share a lot of the same values and hobbies and they do genuinely love each other.

@Rjkooljay and @ahhh6328 the accent was based off of the late Geoffrey Holder, also why would you like the characters to be voiced just because of their ethnicity instead of the ability of voice skill, Phil LaMarr isn't Jamaican yet he still voices Hermes, I'm Spanish myself and Phil used to voice a Spanish character named Hector Con Carne, he put on a little accent but I thought it was good, I don't know much about Scottish but I really like the Demoman from TF2 it's just more played for laughs that he's black with a Scottish accent

The main time I most respected Labarbera was in The Six Million Dollar Mon. She was super supportive of Hermes when he wound up firing himself. While she was a bit put off by the gradual mechanical upgrades she showed she really cared about him then by getting the professor to not do the brain surgery. Specially since they robbed Roberto's grave. I knew before it got installed that his brain would make for a horrible combo with Hermes Mecha bod. Then the whole bit with Barbados Slim. Honestly I hate the guy because he's so arrogant, but the fact that Labarbera so easily cheated on and left Hermes for him more than once, gets rid of the respect. Only good thing about it was Barbados Slim never pretended to be Hermes' friend to get his wife. Betcha if Hermes had a body to match his brain (which would be twice as nice as Barbados Slim when you consider Hermes mind and heart) the man wouldn't be able to get Labarbera off of him.
