very cool. I have to say I have purchased a lot of different equipment from hearing your videos and then listening to the components in a shop. Hegel, Cambridge, Klipsch, etc. Now consolidating and moving to a Uniti Atom. However one of the things I enjoy almost even more than the reviews are your descriptions of different songs, albums, and bands. Maybe a few more reviews like your Lisbon trip. That was fun. There is So much amazing music out there and another conduit to discovery is always appreciated. Thanks.

darko figured out that audiophiles were probably watching his channel through very good sounding setups and the musical segue's reflect that. often times the brief ten seconds of music on this channel makes me appreciate my setup more than me digging through my own archive for a gem.

Part of the reason why I got hooked on your videos fella, is that, you've put me onto so many new and excellent tracks (like this Jones Meadow - 'Moment'), but also for all the info on the mid to high end sound systems.... But man... £6,000? And £2,000 for a pair of stands? That' getting into Apple territory hahaha Jeeeeezuz! lol 😮 😎🇬🇧

i completely agree with this review . i recently went with 2 audiophyle friends to a demo of the Hegel 390 in combination with the following speakers : B&W d2 802 D3 (mind you €21k a pair), the KEF R11, The Focal kanta 3 and the Vivid Kaya 45. Long story short we ranked them Kef 4. Focal 3. B&W 3. and a clear impressive winner ...Vivid ! We ranked them seperately from each other by filling in a simple form during listening. The B&W was in the first 20 minutes very impressive but we all three got tired of this massive sound after 15-20 minutes, the Kef was the biggest dissapointment here. It sounded flat compared to the other speakers, The Focal did very well taking the price difference into consideration but none of the before mentioned came alongside the Vivid which sounded very much alive and immersive withoud getting tired ....we wanted to hear more and more known music . I was strucked by this and had never before heard of this speaker .
@OriginalMindTrick
@OriginalMindTrick 2 жыл бұрын
The Kaya 45 is like a 17k euro speaker.
@Joqxer
@Joqxer 2 жыл бұрын
@@OriginalMindTrick yes we listened to two speakers out in the 5-10k range a pair and two in the 15k-25k. The Focal definitely held best its ground against the more expensive category. We highly advice any self proclaimed audiophile to go out actively listening before you buy. Amp and speakers do really 90% of the job . The rest is hobby, fiddling around with DAC's , streamers, fuses of 2k , cables etc the whole moneymaking circus which makes our hobby like a battlefield of taste , superstition, miracleworks, lab measurement flegmatic dry result bringers and shrewd marketing sharks.
@kunkundalin
@kunkundalin 2 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the nature of your comment. The Focal costs more than double the KEF, and the B&W costs triple the KEF. How is this in any shape or form a comparison? if anything, it simply shows the KEF is the best value for money.

I gave this video a thumbs up… but one of the last questions you asked was does this pair of speakers need a subwoofer… really I do not know of any loud speakers that do not benefit from having one or more subs in the system… even some of the big Klipsches I’ve heard though I have not heard the corner horns yet.

More clean bass is to be had from Robert Leiner's "Visions of the Past" album's 3rd track 'Interval'. The bass fundamental tone is 32Hz, with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th harmonics. Should give the KEF subwoofer a serious shake down :)

Hi, because of the comments on the Vivid S12 is that I have started to consider them in my next purchase for some Speakers, I was also wanting to make an amplifier upgrade, I currently have a Pass Labs XP 10 connected to a NuPrime ST10, I was wondering what would be better, or an upgrade from the ST 10 to a NuPrime evolution STA, or make a more radical change and go to a MBL C51. These are the options that I have more accessible on my site. So which of these two options would go best with the S12. Thank you all very much for your time.

The Kaya recently hit my radar. I’m looking to downsize and simplify by system (looking for a one box solution). Currently I have a Luxman L590aii and Wilson Audio Duette’s (series 1). For source I had a Luxman D05 SACD player which I’ve just sold. I also have a VPI Classic 3 which I am planning on keeping. The idea is finding a integrated with a high quality DAC and streamer. Currently thinking NAD M33 or GoldNote P1000. Any thought how these might pair with the Vivids?

I have multiple computer speakers that are built similarly less the foamy stuff. $6K for the speakers. $2K for the stands. Hmm the sum of the parts don’t add up. However I think the design philosophy is the future and probably at 1/10th of the price.

Most speakers, even those up to $30k+, are just drive units in an MDF box. The same as the ones on a $50 system from Walmart. Obviously, they are not comparable. Same here. Just because they use injection moulded cabinets, doesn't make them cheap speakers.
