I’m a 43 year old cancer survivor who found the love of my life 8 years ago. I’ve lost 6 babies early on and now we are healthfully pregnant with a baby boy due in August .. this song as always hit close to home but todays Mother’s Day and he’s kickin and all I can’t think is “I’ve been waiting on you “ .. the biggest tears of joy while I hear my favorite song ❤

ACobra289 agreed. For sure. These guys provided the soundtrack for my crumbling marriage. That was 2015. Still this song in particular hits me right in the gut. Not sure I’ve ever shared like this on social media. But hearing this song, and knowing maybe I should not play it. Because of what it will do to my being in the moment. Cathartic? Perhaps. I hope it brings as much to another. The pain comes with the love. The love lives in the dreams.

Romain VanMoerbeke yes! I I’d agree with you 100%. FI is a huge band. David Letterman knew as much. Years ago. My comment was more or less celebrating the OG comment. However, perhaps more airplay and press is what how “underrated” meant. The pop side of things if you will. Peace.

"It has been said that a woman marries a man hoping he will change, while a man marries a woman hoping she will never change. This song is about the end of such a relationship. The Summer of the relationship is the time of warmth, peace and companionship. The Winter is the time of coldness to each other, and the memory of Summer only brings more pain with the realization of what has been lost and can't be recovered. Spring rarely comes twice to a couple. The man had tried to change, but in the end it only led to a sense of frustration and failure. It is not his fault. At least not all of it. I have lived this." I don't know if it's just the song or the video but it's a haunting sound crossing the years. Future Islands was at once pretty inspired. Pictures from lone star people, simple and out of time are quite amazing, as if coming from what would be perfect harmony. Thank so much for such a jewel.

This man brought out every emotion within me when I watched him on Jools Holland tonight. It's amazing to see and hear a band that aren't superficial and who focus not on sounding perfect, but on conveying the song lyrics with all of the emotion that they were written to evoke. Damn.

Only discovered them last year on KZfaq, and then by a pure miracle saw them last night in a 1500-person venue here in Perth, Western Australia. Sam mentioned they were celebrating 17 years; well, they performed as fresh and humble as if it was year 1. They played for almost two hours and were extraordinary! The crowd noise that followed Seasons was the loudest I have ever heard in my 54 years. I see why long-time fans worship Sam; he's like a peace-loving tornado on stage. I honestly felt like I had somehow evolved after this gig. If you get a chance, go! Thanks, Gerrit, William, Sam, and Michael, for an incredible show.

This beautiful piece evokes one of the most cherished moments in my life. I spent six months training for the Big Sur marathon. I'm not competitive or a runner, really. I was worried about the 2-mile hill at Hurricane Point and trained extensively for it. I kept running, and as I crested this hill, the view of the Pacific opened up, and this song erupted. My heart swelled, my eyes welled with tears, this song beautifully enhanced the view and the pride I felt having conquered hurricane point. I was elated and felt so lucky and grateful for this song. It was a moment of purity, and I relive it every time I hear this song. Thank you, Sam, for your talent, your love, your energy, and everything you pour into your music. I am eternally grateful.

Considering this song is about Love, and the patience love can bring. I am from California and my sister lives in Texas. She and her husband are like this couple. when we think of country folk we image country music... Instead of country lyrics. This song is very very powerful in the aspect of universal acceptance. Love is Love, no matter if you have a cowboy hat on or dreadlocks. Love is the Universal Truth.

beautiful cinematography in this music video. reminds me of cold and sunny winter days on country FM roads in Texas. Makes me reflect all the times I would accompany my dad on his work in the rural parts of TX. He would let me choose the music, and I'd get to be my angsty teenage self in the backseat. You've found your man! Many congratulations! I haven't found mine yet, even if Peter Gabriel is a favorite. There's so many others, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, John Lennon, Morrissey, Etc. Petöfi is my favorite poet, but I don't speak Hungarian so I've only enjoyed his poetry in translation. Seasons (Waiting On You) is a masterpiece, no doubt at all, very powerful indeed. In 2014, it was MOJO's Track Of The Year! I thought the band was synth-pop, but they have always referred to their music as post-wave dance music.

Two days ago I had to put to sleep my beautiful black Belgian Malinois, who I loved to death. That evening I had an errand to do with the wife in a store and I heard this on the speaker for the first time in my life when I had been fighting back tears all evening. I knew this was the song that was going to not only pull the extreme grief out of me, give me strength but the song put the incredible personality, grace, strength, and beauty he was into music. This was the song that was going to make me remember how incredible he was. The crescendo made me imagine him running at full speed across that plain like I had seen him do thousands of times which captured the beautiful power and free spirit he had. The last couple of years he had gotten sick in the fall and I had angst all summer, that this process would repeat itself. Seasons changed and this fall he had lung cancer- now I crave what is gone...
