Thank you for this course, it was really helpful. Just to be sure about a point, do we always need a "by..." clause with the futur perfect? Or is not obligatory?

Hi. It's very common to use "by"; however, it is not obligatory. You could, for example, say: " When he comes back, I will have been waiting for him for 2 hours"

"I will have finished" means that you will have a result and "I will have been finishing" may imply that it will last into the future - you will be almost ready with sth
