This is part 2 of a Prairie Dog Hunting session. I am using 36gr H&N slugs and shooting them at 1035fps. Here is the details on the rifle-
Reg pressure 160 bar, 700mm superior heavy slug liner, FX slug power kit installed, and valve adjuster is 3 lines out.
Scope is an Athlon Ares ETR with a side shot scope cam mount, GoPro hero 7 black, eagle vision lens.
Suppressor is a Donny FL Ronin in .25 cal, bipod is a BOG carbon fiber Great Divide.
Any other questions, just ask! Thanks for watching!!

@Richard Ward- That’s a chip shot for the 22-250! That’s got to be one of the flattest shooting center fires, and smoke the little guys when you hit them! Thanks for the comment! I put a lot of effort in to tuning the rifle and selecting my ammo when attempting such shots. With some practice and patience it is absolutely possible to make shots out past 250 yards 👍🏻 thanks for taking the time to leave a comment!

Great shooting. I took my MK2 V2 out on Wednesday for.the Zan 33gr maiden hunt on rabbits (cotton tails). My aim was to get some over 200yds. Well, blow me, first shot 230yds straight down, 2nd shot 225yd headshot as that's all I could see. Then had lots over 175yds. Had a double at 185&190yds, another double at 125yds. I basically hit everything I went for 150 was to easy which sounds crazy. Had no runners. I'm definitely in to the ZANs & if you get to try them I'm pretty sure they would work. Only on my pellet tune they leave at 974fps. Mine are all on video aswell 🙂 Look forward to part 3.

@Pedes Read- Dang! Those are shone long shots your making! Great tune you have there. I have some ZAN slugs and I have been impressed with them so far, I will be using the 37 gr .25 cal slugs in an upcoming video! They are very soft and will work great for expanding on those long range shots! Thanks for commenting bud 🙏🏻

That's great to hear you have some. I found at 45yds they expand beautifully & even start to fragment which is what we, I want. Less.chance for follow through so in smaller locations defo safer. I knew the 33s worked well with all my testing but I was extremely pleased with the ease at which long shots were taken, those doubles felt more like 80yds, not 185/190yds. Shall look forward to hearing how you get on with them

I shoot my setup multiple times starting at 20 yards and then 30, 40, 50, and so all the way out to 100 yards(or whatever distance I plan to shoot) and I document what I need to dial on my scope for those distances. A little old fashion and time consuming but it works! For the wind, I just kinda know where to hold and when I miss I pay attention to see what corrections I need to make. Do you lube your slugs and how often do you have to clean your barrel? Very nice shooting by the way! I have been having issues with accuracy with a LW polygonal barrel in .25 caliber. I have cleaned the barrel several times and it never seems to be dirty?!? Im using Patch Worm and high quality solutions too. I’m using 34 grain FX pellets that in the past give me same hole accuracy. Everything is tight…rings, mount, moderator, shroud, barrel, and scope. Now even though they are at the same speed of 917 FPS I’m getting 1-3” groups at 50 yards and that’s not normal. Usually at this distance i get 1/2” groups. This is a LCS SK-19 and I know not a FX barrel, but any insight you may have would be awesome. Maybe I need to lube the ammo? Barrel is clean. I look at the FX barrels kinda similar to the Polygonal in a way which is why I’m asking you. They don’t bite into the ammo like other traditional rifling styles do and deform the ammo. Thank you for your time and an awesome video. God bless my friend.
@dangolwinner
@dangolwinner 3 жыл бұрын
@Heath Halfhill- I have experimented with lubing the slugs and for me they didn’t give much of an advantage or improvement in accuracy. That doesn’t mean it won’t work for you though! As far as cleaning the barrel, i have only cleaned my superior heavy liner once, the day I got it, and never had to since. It has been one of the best barrels I’ve had today and has required zero maintenance. Maybe you can try and burn 200 shots, if you can spare the ammo, and see if your groups tighten up after thoroughly seasoning the barrel. Let me know how it turns out for you and good luck, it’s very frustrating to have an accurate rifle act up like that.

You have a weak valve return spring because of the slug power kit. So the valve isn't really effective anymore. How can your gun be so consistent with your valve on 3 lines with a weak valve return spring?
@dangolwinner
@dangolwinner 3 жыл бұрын
@Roy Pijnenburg- The valve return spring has very little influence with this tune. The duration of the valve opening is mainly controlled by the reg pressure vs the hammer strength. The air pressure behind the valve is what it is closing it. I have found this setup to yield much more consistent velocities and a VERY low standard deviation!
