I had the pleasure of speaking to professional trader Brent Donnelly about what it takes to be a winning trader and how to gain a psychological advantage.
Brent Donnelly has been a market maker, trader, and senior manager at banks such as HSBC, Citi, and Nomura and has been trading since 1995.
He is President of Spectra Markets and writes the daily macro newsletter AM/FX. He's also the author of Alpha Trader (2021) and The Art of Currency Trading (Wiley, 2019).

So very enjoyable, having read his book and found it fascinating, So what joy to get the potted version of the book in your video interview Michael As a long term trader it’s good to be reminded of some great ideas The point where you understand variants. Random trades can be dangerous trades. An Edge can be just knowing how a particular instrument behaves. Risk appetite...... Set your stops, find the right opportunity, then dare to be Risk on Basic understanding of the macro picture Three bad trades in a row don’t throw the towel in, markets are fickle, money management will let you trade again. Hi all from turkey I just wanted to write about the fact that I am currently reading Mr Brent's book the alpha trader. Even if the copy I am reading just a translation to turkish, I must admit that It is fascinating! I am not a trader and basically an invest and wait guy. What's more; my first influence of the book was not different from those all about "belive in yourselves" trash. However, as i keep reading, I realized that book is full of experience and many times I go through the same excitement when reading his trades. And I discovered that trading is not so easy as it was seem to me. The book made me a more meticulous person when it comes to investing.I am very happy to read and learn :)
