Carl Zeiss Jena reached the final overcoming Roma, Valencia, Newport County and Benfica, losing the final to Dinamo Tbilisi. That team was coached by Hans Meyer. Andreas Bielau and Jürgen Raab were the team topscorers, with 3 goals.

Carl Zeiss and Dinamo Tbilisi were such great teams. It's a shame there was very poor attendance in the finals. People tend to think by stereotypes. If Benfica and Feyenoord made it through to the finals, I think there would be sellout crown at Rheinstadion in Duesseldorf.

True. Football fans in Düsseldorf - unless they support Fortuna - are considered to be rather picky. Add to this the old stadium with its athletics lanes and you have the perfect "killer" as far as the mood and noise are concerned.

People talk about the comebacks of today but in the history remember Roma 3-0 Jena Jena 4-0 Roma it's hard to do that to Roma like they are a East Germany Team

1-0, golo de Reinaldo. Um dos maiores massacres que o Benfica fez a um adversário. Eliminação injusta.
