The major outcome of the G-7 Summit was to produce a more unified policy on China. While the leaders of the Group of Seven industrialized nations took steps to counter China's economic clout worldwide and promote a transition to clean energy during the summit in Japan, the G-7 also made efforts to de-escalate direct confrontations with China.
