I was in a band that opened for H&O on six weeks of their Big Bam Boom tour. GE was always really down to earth and one of the friendliest of the bunch. Nothing but good feelings about him.

I think he played the solo on "Kiss On My List". That's one of my favorite studio-recorded guitar solos of all time.

G.E is a super cool guy. I was fortunate enough to meet him in San Francisco at a Hall & Oates show along with the late T bone Wolk. They were great guys and very friendly. G.E is exactly like he is in this video. It was s wonder experience to meet a player of that caliber that would take the time to have a down to earth chat about music. Thank you G.E!! I hope you musical path continues to take you down many satisfying roads!!

I bet he has a very vivid memory. He seems to be looking off camera as if to conjure up the images he is talking about in his head, like he can see it as he is describing it.

GE is obviously enormously talented or he would not have the resume he does but what a cool a genuine guy he is.

Thank you so much for these interviews - gosh what a treasure - GE SMITH? now you got me looking for more... please capture these artists in this informal way - it is pure gold. Imagine if we had all the greats like this? Soon they will be gone ... Glen left in January, Natalie, Keith Emerson ... get it while you can please.

Even though I didn't care for his persona on SNL (mugging too much for my taste, way too many killer vintage guitars), GE Smith really comes across in these interviews as one of the coolest cats ever, gracious and humble all the way. Didn't know he was married to Gilda Radner, either.
