Let's just finish off the wave (except for retail Snake Eyes...not yet, anyway) of Hasbro's G.I. Joe Classified Series wave 1 with Destro. Finally, a bad guy for the shelf. And sooooo worth the wait.

This Destro is absolutely badass, and most definitely the highlight of the retail wave. I'm really loving the added details like the cut lines in his mask, and even the added knuckle padding on his gloves. It makes it look more tactical and functional rather than just black spandex.

Super surprised they didnt have Cobra Commander in the first wave. PS I figured the "unmarked bills" were supposed to be C4 strapped into the case. Making it a bomb with controls to set it off.

You're a real trooper taking it on the chin with those ebay prices, man. My hats off to you. I couldn't get myself to do it. But Destro is the one I was waiting for. And it doesn't look like he disappoints. I'm more of a villains guy in general. So when I heard about this line my head immediately thought about Destro, Baroness, Major Blood, Dr. Mindbender, Serpentor, Tomax and Xamot, Nemesis Enforcer, and B.A.T.T.'s.

Great review. As a long time Gi Joe (RAH) collector, I wasn't originally sold on these figures. However I've come around, and just pre-ordered SE and Destro from Amazon Canada the other day. Can't wait! Keep up the amazing work!

Picked up the Deluxe Snake Eyes and I absolutely love it. I can’t wait for the rest of the wave to show up on my doorstep. The bad guys were always my favorites as a kid. Fingers crossed for a Cobra La 3 pack remake. Thanks for the in depth look at the figure.

I'm trying not to pull a Robo and go to the Bay before release.... but oh man. I just might have too!!! Everyone of these looks like a DAMN WINNER!! Whole wave is a must!! For a lot of the same reasons Robo stated, customs, paint touch ups etc. Fun ol' review hoime!

Good review. I wasn't thrilled with Destro at first ,because I'm waiting for Cobra Commander; but he is impressive. Your pics at the end convinced me I need that fig. Go Robo! 👍

Oh sheeyit. That Destro illustration on the box... You arent the only one who never realized that his collar mimicked a cobra’s head. Actually I‘m not sold that that was intended before this version, given that he had this background that was more about his third-party role as the arms dealer, and eventually spawned the Iron Grenadiers. I mean the original cartoon’s theme says, "GI Joe against Cobra AND Destro..." But I gotta say...that use of the logo in the artwork is visually brilliant.

I was originally gonna pass on this line entirely, but then I found a cobra trooper at target. So I bought him just to check out the line you know why not. Anddddd he was awesome, and then a couple weeks later I found Cobra Commander and Gung Ho at target, so I got them, now I have snake eyes on order, beach head coming, and I'm on the lookout for baroness. Thanks Fwoosh, I wouldn't have even bother to give the line a try without you! XD

I have to say one of my stores out here the local collector shops had this line out so I went ahead and grabbed snake eyes and scarlet to my favorites and they're really really awesome I can't wait to get the rest there are some great figures and I look forward to another line of them now marvel converse GI Joe

just got this guy today and loving it. one thing I would say is you can put the larger pistol into the holster and leave the other one in the case. kinda another last resort thing where he'd dupe people into the fact he has stack o cash in there open it up pull out the small pistol and start blasting . .

I love gi joe! I love what they hasbro has done with the line, I love the design of the waist articulation, I love the butterfly joints and up and down hinge for wrists to hold guns. The only thing that is making me fearful of getting into this line is my wallet:(

I was watching GI Joe Retaliation yesterday and while it’s fine it just reminded what a missed opportunity those movies are, like I feel like both movies are missing something. But on a side note love these reviews and I feel wave 2 should be mostly Cobra since this wave was mostly Joes

I feel they grounded them too much in reality. Part of the fun for those of us who grew up with the Joes was the way they incorporated the more futuristic aspects into military life. Hopefully when they give these new movies a go they'll take a page out of the MCU playbook and add more of the sci-fi elements and individual looks into the mix.

Just got Destro today, and It is a fun figure. Got Snake eyes as well, and Now I´m waiting for Beach Head, some troopers and ninjas. Not a G.I. Joe fan, but those designs is what is catching my eye.

In the original 1983 G.I. Joe series, A Real American Hero, Destro easily defeated and captured Scarlet twice. When the Joes took over the Cobra heli-carrier, Destro took her hostage and escaped. And at the Cobra Temple, when Scarlet helped lead a prisoner revolt, Destro captured Scarlet, again.

As toybiz really tried to push articulation, eventually to the extreme causing some figure proportions to be wonky, I always missed that they got rid of the tow joint. The toe joint can add so much to dynamic poses, as most movement start from the feet.

Who couldn’t they stick with the same vibe Snake Eyes, Destro and even Duke have where they feel like THE quintessential image of each character? They stick very close to the original designs with some modern aspects while Roadblock and Scarlett feel like GI Joe Operation Space with all that gold and lasers Was only thinking of getting Snake Eyes and maybe Destro but now it looks like I will go all in once they are available

It seems to me that its going to be 4 joes and one cobra and if the pattern on the art work on the back is the method they are operating from the next wave will be 4 cobras one joe and an exculsive figure bring each wave a total of 6 figures. So next up red ninja, Baroness, Cobra Commander, Alley viper, Gung Ho, and an exculsive figure much like the snake eyes pack for 40 bucks. Thats my prediction.

I can remember those rockets from the first one, man-o-man that's awesome, I loved playing with Chromedome and shoot'n peeps with his rockets when he was unarmed. Yeah I'll be 48 in a couple months.

Back in the 80s after the first couple of years the Joes had been out they started releasing weapon packs to replace the weapons you lost in battle. Well I'd like to see Hasbro release a "Realistic Weapon" pack for these 6 inch Joes. Have it only on Hasbro Pulse for like 8-10 and it includes Snakes Eyes' Uzi and a type of 9mm, Dukes Assault Rifle (not sure what he originally had) and a type of 9mm, Roadblock's Ma-Deuce 50 Cal with Tripod, and something like an MP5 and another 9mm like a glock for Destro. And Maybe throw in some other weapons like a SAW, some AR-15s and Ak-47s. I know it's a bit more money but I'd pay it to get the realistic weapons.

The Burning Sensation pretty sure it wasn’t originally, as Ron Rudat did the design of the logo before Destro was conceived and he was initially separate from Cobra. None of the former Joe designers I have talked to have made the connection either, but it works.

We shouldn't have to, but the weapon situation is an easy enough fix as there are a lot of 3rd party casters for relatively inexpensive prices, minus Tomytec.
