Side note, Lena's reason to adding red to her hair and wearing the black uniform in the Light Novel is as mourning clothes and a representation of the blood spilled of the 86.

It’s also a great symbolism to detail signifying her resolve to being different. She’s not like any of the other ignorant Alba, she’s different.

51:45 Unfair Kurena shade. She wasn't going to also thank Lena for the cat after Anju already did. More importantly, her telling Lena "I'm glad you're alive" shows a lot of growth on her part. Kurena is genuinely glad to see Lena, someone who is her rival in love and also one of the Alba that she swore she'd never forgive.

There are so much details in 86. That's why 86 is my favourite anime. 86 is a masterpiece.

Some things he missed: After Kaie's death Theo is spacing out while everyone is playing basketball, and is directly in front of the sword bearing mural, the blade right above his head. It's a reference to the Sword of Damocles, and the imminent danger that is right around the corner for them. Eugene's sister is taught by him to say "thank you" to Shin in the library, because that's what you should say whenever someone does something nice for you. In the finale, after receiving the picture of her brother, she says "thank you" to Shin. Throughout the show the fountain in the lobby of the Alba headquarters is shown to slowly fall into more and more disrepair, starting clean but soon filling with beer bottles and cigarette butts, springing a leak etc as a parallel to Lena's naivete wearing down. Albrecht, the mechanic, hid his eyes with a clipboard after being struck with a ball in one of Fido's flashbacks, keeping his eyes hidden so no one would recognize him as Alba until their final mission.

31:53 I really like how the destroyed statue looked. The eyes looked as if gorged out and blood spilling out of the mouth seems to be symbolising that all the destruction is the price the alba are paying for staying blind and refusing to speak up for what is right

If the next volumes get the same treatment as season 1, we will have a classic in our hands. I hope A1 do this right. And hopefully one day we get an special episode about lena and the 86 struggle in San Magnolia. Great reactions as always!

Spoiler : I hope the sea of "Sirin" corpses will be adapted spectacularly, because it is to show how brutal the war was at that moment for me

@@Luxius. SPOILERS That Sirins scene is crucial for the development of all the 86 that are struggle with a lack of a new goal beyond the battlefield so It should get the most focus over anything else imo. But first we need that s2 announcement.

also i feel like im the only one who noticed this, but when Shin was showing Eugine Ninas picture he hesitated before picking it up becouse he noticed he had bloody hands so he wiped them off to clean them before picking it up
