After months of waiting, its finally here on my possession. The one of the most famous model collectors worldwide, the king sized G-Shock model, GXW-56 Black Out series. The one in this video is a whole JDM version that had acquire from a friend last week. Since this is the first time for me to fully review this piece in detail, I decided to include some other model as a comparison as well like the Nylon Black Out basic 6900 and of course with my favourite Gulfmaster G-Shock. The button style/pattern on the GXW-56 is known as 'knurling'. You will also find this on other objects (most commonly on metal) such as a springbar tool grip component. Otherwise, nice video. Keep it up. 👍🏽

Had a fogging issue with this model,had to go service centre 3 times,first change gasket,2nd time change the whole bezel n 3rd time they offer me to change to other model

Thats sounds pretty annoying. All I did to fix this issue is use a hairdryer and apply sealant at all possible leaks.

All watches will fog if used in the shower. Or sauna... it's the extreme temperature change. Kinda like having a cold drink out side in the summer. Moisture builds up on the cold side. Even dive watches that are rated for extreme diving.. don't leak, but will still get moisture build up if you take a really hot shower with it. ... In turn, it's not the water causing the issue is the extreme temperature change.

Love this watch. Bought one recently on a trip to Japan. Since I bought it, I haven’t taken it off! Definitely worth the money. Also, I’ve seen comments about fogging issues and I haven’t had any issues.

Do you see the "greyish" solar border lines that go all the way around the edge of the watch, which act as the border enclosing all the solar panels, these all look to be the same greyish colour all the way around. A friend has a new GX-BB56-1DR, except in his watch, parts of the solar border lines are greyish and parts of them are copper coloured? What is your opinion of that? Is this normal, it does not seem to be?

I don't like the gap between the wrist and the strap. Watch strap should hug the wrist well. The gap looks awkward.

About to send mine back. Read reviews and saw pics on Amazon. Too many have fogging issue. I believe attributable to double crystal. Also, the negative display is much worse in person than in pic or vid. At MOST angles, watch is illegible. Still, I wish I could keep it. Cool looking and comfortable.

@@sharkskin3448 but I was yesterday with someone work in the g shock factory and he explained to me this he just said the people buying online that’s the big issue because no trust online he said most of the people buy this watch from the g shock factory they never complained about the fogging that’s mean don’t buy online u never know what’s watch gonna sell to u

@@ironman1080 how can someone buy direct from g-shock factory? Also, fogging is a known issue for this model with 2 lense crystal. Also, negative display is very hard to read on this model.

@@sharkskin3448 some of the country like Asian they work with g shock factory they have only original watch they can not sell fake they gonna sue their factory , but other normal shop the mixed fake and original watch so if u want to buy always make sure those shop have certificated by g shock company

Hi, I received the the watch today from amazon sold by alphajapan . Now my questions is I compared it to your watches and the watch looks same the difference is the box and no tags . Here’s the serial no. At the back case 304a254g. And when I adjust the city and the time through my phone doesn’t match the watch is 2 minutes late. I knew once you

And I try to adjust the city country and when I check the time through the phone it’s doesn’t match the time ? Advance 2 minutes ? And the box I received is definitely different than yours. And no tags . I received the watch and black box manual from Japan but no tags and outer box case. Can you please help me if this is legitimate. From amazon sold by alpha Japan . In the description is gxw-56bb-1jf import from Japan.

From the way you describe it, the watch is genuine. I already checked the seller you mentioned and everything looks good so far. About the box, there are several types of them out there even from Japan alone. The one you saw in this video is the newest. If you check my older video for king model, you'll see the box will be different too. The time will only synchronised if it has successfully received the time signal. If it is not, then you gonna need to adjust that manually or try to synchronised the time again with your phone using the JJY Simulator app.

What is the difference between multiband 6 and non multiband model

Multiband is another term to express the features called wave-ceptor. Where the watch will receive time wave signal from clock tower all around the world to adjust the time in your watch to match with the signal. There are only 6 tower that is emitting the signal right now worldwide. Every tower will gives out signal at different frequencies. Multiband 6 is a features where your G-Shock could receive all 6 different signal worldwide. * there are also multiband 5 model like the solar Gulfman GW-9100 or solar Mudman GW-9025A * there are also multiband 2 model where it could only receive two specific different signal. (vintage JDM model) *there are also multiband 1 model where it could only receive one specific signal like the Antman. Non-multiband is the rest. G-Shock that don’t have built in antenna to receive these signals.

I love mine, had it for a few years now. The only thing I dislike is the screen. I accidentally scratched it, very small, but i know it's there. Shame it wasn't a Sapphire glass, but then, not sure how that would affect the solar charging.

This one should be good but remember that without a proper nato adapter the lug won't be as tough as if it with the original strap.

They're really strong. But since they're made out resin, they still tend to rot. They could last for at least five years without proper care and cleaning. I'm referring to the watch band/strap only. The watch itself going to last way way longer

Do you find on any of the cheaper g shock ana/digi combos such as the ga100 series and the ga110 series that the minute hand does not properly align with the markers? thanks for any advice.

The minute hand actually moves every 20 seconds passed. I sees it like it had misaligned sometimes but it is actually not. Plus if it is indeed misaligned, we could perform the hand adjust setting and get it back to place. The analog hand does tends to slightly misaligned with the digital time every month or so. :)

Too bad to hear that but do know that this model is indeed really tough for harsh/sweaty/muddy/hot environment that one might get into. It is similar to owning a basic DW5600 series except way tougher.

It is of course but not as good as one would expect especially at under a bright hot daylight. If you like this series, get the basic version that comes with a positive display instead. If you don't mind the function as much, get this black out edition one.

The solar panel is fine, the lithium battery wouldn’t. Well technically they could work for over 20 years but they aren’t as efficient. Replaceme them once and you’re good to go for another 20 years~

Don't use the light or the alarm etc etc... Which you don't really need to and trust me the cell will last much longer...... And don't let the charge run dry etc etc

What's the best G-Shock for travelers? It would be nice for the watch to automatically change time zones as I travel. I also would like a digital display to show me the day, date, and time ie 09:07 Sun Sept 14. Other nice things, solar powered, water proof, sunset & sunrise times, and thermometer. Any suggestions? I'm overwhelmed with all the options.

I think that unless you get a GPS watch there is no way to change automatically the time. For all the other functions (such as sunset & sunrise and thermometer), I think you should look into Casio Protrek models.

Without further solar charging, about 1 year +- With consistent solar charging, 20 years +-
