SICK WATCH

There is definitely something kind of retro funky cool with this all gold metal G-Shock square. One of the rare all gold watches I might have fun considering. Something about this reminds me of something that could be worn in the old 80's Buck Rogers tv series. If you've ever watched and familiar with that show, you may agree it has that kind of future flash which they draw a bit from late 70's to early 80's that seems like this watch would be very comfortable in that setting. That being said, and I've said this before, G-Shocks, particularly any square model, transcends any time period and can always be in fashion as far as I'm concerned. They have a cool version on the black rubber/resin band which looks pretty cool, too.. but, that may be a limited edition. Lastly, going off on limited edition G-Shock squares.. I REALLY like the new GMW-B5000V with the worn metal look. Super cool. and for $1k?! one of the priciest G-Shock metals out there.. or will be out there. But, THAT would be the one for me I'd want to get. And, I think if it is really limited edition, and just that finish, it would probably gain in value before long, I can imagine. Not that that really matters to me. But, it would be good to know that the value if I tried to sell it later would be at likely at least as much as I paid for it, if not make some $$. That's my speculation as far as the cost to own one, even for a while, is concerned. It's way toned down and doesn't have any high-polished areas (that I am aware and can see) and I just love how weathered it looks. I was thinking of getting the all black version and just sanding it down to achieve the same look for less than 1/2 the price. But, I'm not sure how resilient the coating is on the g-shocks and it may be a lot harder to get the same look than I am imagining.

So which one should I get? Leaning towards Resin band, but the Gold and Silver are very intriguing. Hmmmm....

G Shock King!

The gold version looks incredible, but I'd be worried about it scratching and wearing down over the years. The steel version doesn't have the issue of wearing down to the base metal, but it doesn't have the glorious look of gold. It seems silly to baby a G Shock for fear of scratching the finish. First world problems, eh.

I think that the negative display has a brushed gold bracelet but the positive 35th edition has polished gold bracelet

There’s a blue metal square out that looks pretty cool. Resin strap I think.

Bought one to go with my ups uniform. Its so nice dont know if i want to scratch it up.

In person it can looks like 40% gold, 50 bronze, 10 sliver ( depends on the lighting and angles.)

Tried this on the other day. Was underwhelmed by the bracelet, to me it felt too lightweight. Now drawn to the black strap version.

I've got the stainless and black IP one, you're making me jones for this. Just not sure if I can pull it off. That said, I agree with wearing it everyday, beating it to hell, and enjoying the character that scratches bring. After my stainless steel one gets beat up, I'm going to have it sandblasted.

Will this be too big for my wrist? My Omega FOIS (39.7mm) is the biggest watch I can ever fit on my wrist.

Why wouldn't you want to be able to use the phone finder function? Or the personal locator function? Also it is much easier and quicker to make adjustments to the watch thru the phone app.

I love G-Shock. I love steel. I don't get the idea behind a steel g-shock.
