Thank you! The reason why we pronounce the Latin text according to the Italian tradition is that research shows that in the 17th century fex in Stockholm at court they used that pronounciation, since the italian latin was a la moda:)

I don't understand why we have different traditions at all when we have recounstructed the actual classical Roman pronunciation down to the smallest nuances of speech

​@speedyx3493 As you said yourself, the classical pronunciation is "reconstructed." It isn't the natural pronunciation of latin as it came to evolve in the different European countries. The classical pronunciation only reflects latin as it was spoken from 100 BC to 100 AD. Its pronunciation was different before and after these points, and, quite frankly, for most of its existence as a living language until today. Buxtehude would be quite familiar with the latin as pronounced in this performance. A classical pronunciation, on the other hand, would be absolutely alien to him. As such, it should also be alien to us in that context.
