I am on my second G-Wagon. Bought the first one a 2004 G500 that has always been my dream car. When I got some more money, i went for the G55 AMG Black. It's super fast and I am so loving it. G wagon got soul, nothing else matters.

Spot on! Having ridden in your car before I can attest everything is true. And I totally forgot about the basketball hoop cup holders but as soon as you pointed them out I remember noticing them as soon as I got in. What a choice.

I bought a 2015 G63 AMG , in Orange with black trim, and have never loved like this before ! Ive owned well over 100 vehicles and this is the ultimate. Thats said, less than 1 month of ownership and only having 47,000 km on it, I have had to replace the entire steering system - power steering pump and power steering gear box!!! Im on Vancouver Island in Canada and it cost me $14,000. to fix. My motto - if you wanna play, you gotta pay !

I had an 02' just like yours and what made me sell it is the G Wagon bubble in 2021. Man do I miss that thing so fucking much I can never replace it. I'm looking for a 2010 - 2011 G55 AMG now.

I remember the first time I saw a G-Wagon about 13 years ago thinking to myself man, I really want one. I might’ve just been a kid at the time, but I wanted one. I still do, but it would have to be a pre-2019. The new styling just doesn’t do it for me on top of it gaining a “look at me” reputation gained from TV shows, social media, etc. rather than it being a civilized military truck.

Great video. The 200 series may be the best SUV ever but the G500 may be the most fun to tool around in.

Good content and entertaining viewing

Okay you guys in the comments are my type of people so I need your help. I want an older style G Wagon because I’m obsessed with the box styled look and a Jeep Wrangler is small to me and I also love the the utilitarian aspect of the G. Have anyone had any major problems with the older models, I seen on a forum to avoid the 09’ version but couldn’t find anything else on other models. I also came across that the G could survive well over 500k in miles which is unbelievable and pretty cool if this is true. Love this review as well.

Hello friends, I'm seeking your advice. I'm torn between opting for a 2019 used Mercedes-Benz G Wagon with 100,000 miles on it or going for one with 20,000 miles. Does the mileage significantly affect G Wagons? I adore this car model but buying it new isn't an option for me!

Driving this truck in big cities where income is high and it’s common, is no problem at all. I am in Vancouver, Canada and I see one every 10 minutes on the road.

This is the perfect vehicle to me. Ground clearance, locking differentials and bomb-proof M113 and 5 speed transmission. I hate that they became soccer mom mobiles when they should be on a trail somewhere.

Dominic G-55 or G-Wagon is not made by Mercedes Germany. It is made in Austria by Stayer company primarily as a military vehicle or as an off road farmers vehicle.

I recently bought a 2003 G Wagen for the purpose of overlanding and traveling. As a lover of canyon driving, this thing is atrocious. All the faults you describe are SO true. AND so are the reactions of others. even though it's a 20 year old vehicle that cost less than a mid spec Camry, Accord, Outback, etc. and half the price of a current top spec Wrangler or Bronco or even Tacoma. I get dirty looks too. It's almost like I want to rattle can it flat earth, put on off road tires a winch and never wash it. Oh, and a roof rack with roof top tent, which is definitely happening. Maybe I'll do a flat earth PPF. Great video.

I have a love & hate with my G63.

I owned one for two years until it was totaled. I loved it. It was a crazy experience owning it however. I never brought myself to purchasing another one, but I have been tempted to. Do you still own it?

It’s the Hublot of the SUVs, well the modern Rolexes, APs, PPs and RMs on wheels. Everything is ruined by the soccer and football players, boxers or rappers. It’s just a hype and a show off thing tasteless modern thing it’s just to be in the social media trend.

I am happy to pay the gas tax for owning this vehicle. It’s arguably the most reliable Mercedes or even luxury German car model on the road. It has the least deprecation, nearly none at 10-15 years old. It looks good old or new. It’s tough and can save your life in a crash.

at this point (of having enough khesh to buy this monstrosity) why not go for a Defender? Would you agree the G-wagon is the GMT of cars? Very parvenu. I find Landys much more less pretentious. Glad you sold it though!

It's never going to be a luxury SUV, because... It's never even going to be an SUV! 😂 Instead, it's a proper 4x4 riding on a separate ladder frame chassis, it has low range and can activate all three diff locks while on the move. A X5, Cayenne, Bentayga, Cullinan, now thóse are SUV's

The negative attention that you get from driving the G-Wagen is from jealousy. Especially if they're flipping you off. People assume you're rich because you have one.

One day, in 3037, someone will man up and pronunciate Geländewagen correctly. G Wagen is what first graders call it.

American soldier stationed in germany. The bundasweir (german army) drive these and treat them like hmmwv. However I seen more toyota hilux they spray painted olive green being used as german military vehicle more often than the g wagon. I would never ever daily or own a hmmwv. They will have to pay me to take one. They are headache to drive (require a helmet and a passenger to "clear right" and depending on the set up, rear view is questionable at best, with AC that is more loud than cool, leaks rain your sleeves will be wet, the seat is less comfortable than public school buses and kids size. But the doors are the worst: they are the cheap folding plastic type with zipper windows (rare to fine one that zips up becuase the zipper tears off the door), or the hard plastic type that rarely close and open without a struggle or the up armored that will chop off fingers or break ankles if not paying attention when it shuts (those doors weighing over 100 lbs). The g wagon tho, I never been in one and that makes it desirable.
