Honestly Contractz played so well both games. He continuously impacted the game without ever falling behind on farm or objectives and didn’t overextend or greed his flash a single time. Best performance by an NA jungler in a long time.

NRG is very good at recognizing positional mistakes. It allowed them to make the 'underdog' run against teams in NA that are traditionally out of position, and they are good enough at drafting to take advantage of these early mistakes with compositions that scale into mid game comps. While they didn't have the most difficult road to 2-1 going through pretty mediocre NA and EU teams, g2 was hyped as a team close to capable of beating the east. G2 got humbled in this one, got coach gapped too on this occasion. Thinkcard isn't the best coach in NA but he's never arrogant which i'd accuse Falco of being in game 1, he worked a comp that helps setup easier neeko ultimates, and used champions that spike reasonably well mid game to take advantage of any picks that they got out of that. On the other side, an Ego belveth and a composition of reasonably strong champions with only ok synergy, the plan was pretty sus with the comp overall imo. Falco didn't ego the 2nd draft nearly as bad, but kinda seemed based on play like the damage was done.

Same as a C9 fan... I was hoping C9 would play this style. NRG figured out how to play as an underdog and I really hope the LCS copy NRGs style. They're aggressive and play very well as a unit. Issue with western teams is they try to play the eastern style of game without having the skills to match. You need to play as a unit and not individually (lane advantage) if you want to win.

Contractz and palafaker were insane. I already believe they'll beat wbg. I only bet on nrg this game due to hopium, but I believe you forgot about xmithie. He went to the msi finals twice on 2 different teams. Maybe on the world stage. I dont remember xmithie getting out of groups, but he was always a top jgl in NA unlike contractz and blaber. Didn't blaber make it to semis in worlds 2018? Don't remember his preformace, but its the farthest any NA team has gone in worlds so far.@@jacoballey21

@jotazrendipia1184 NRG get a lot of flack on having so many coaches, but perhaps the amount of resources that are poured into the existing roster of players outweighs innate talent from other regions. I have held this belief for a long time but just taking people from around the world and having them move to a foreign country (the US to most,) does not create the same environment the players came from hence affecting game play. Its difficult but the amount of coaches and lack of language barrier in my opinion make NRGs ecosystem efficient for producing results.

As a G2 fan, This is one of the most embarrassing losses of all time. From now on, I will keep doubting them until they can prove me wrong, because deep down, I want them to prove me wrong. NRG played amazing, but I'm still disappointed at how G2 played this series. Now that they're up against BLG for a spot in quarters, I will intentionally support BLG to see if G2 deserves to be at worlds.
