@@colin5197 that's why i said league wasn't EWC ready. regardless of 4 days tournament with a shitty format other games were actually more ready. look at the other MOBA Dota2 (20 teams) MLBB (23 teams) LOL had the smallest team count on the category with only 8 teams the next one would be the Female MLBB which was 12 and the new HOK global which is also 12 also the huge difference would be the time of announcement league had like 3 months or less before this even (end of march) whilst the other games were like half a year before it was announced. so yeah riot wasn't ready for EWC (Valorant's not even one of the category while CS2 is) they have to change their whole 2025 schedule (for the whole league pro regions) if they ever plan to join in EWC 2025 imo.

@Blitzkit that's because other game developers allow 3rd party tournaments... Riot, on the other hand, hasn't for many years now. They only gave this the okay because they want to contract their production fully out to the saudis in a couple of years. That way, Riot gets to keep all the revenue generated from the micro transactions they sell thru the marketing of their esport without any of the costs associated with running multiple leagues and international tournaments.

@@schmidth Yes, and tbf Tian usually looks worse at internationals (since 2019, at least), so today was a very unsual day for him, i think G2 looks disjointed in their plays, they need to improve their shotcalling asap

if we're basing from past tourney like MSI 2024 this is T1's game with GEN doing an early exit (well this is just a 3-4 days tourney with just only 8 teams invited) two teams were actually doing better than MSI tho (TL and TES) both won against the team that eliminated them TL against FNC and TES against GEN and weirdly enough this is just a replay of loser's bracket round 2 (T1 vs TL and G2 vs TES)
