Great review! The retro coloured door cards are a bit weird and I feel like the only good angle on the M2 is from the side. I would love to try one though.

Thanks man! I definitely see what you mean about the exterior design - it's not for everyone and it's quite polarizing. Initially when first announced, the design was controversial (like many new BMW's). It grew on me, and the performance was convincing....

I just love the typical M owner…the car comes with electronic 3-way shocks but owners always lower the car with different aftermarket springs. BMW spends millions tuning the car and they feel they know way more than BMW how to tune the car. Let’s add on a $5K exhaust that adds 2 hp and blows out your eardrums. Let’s add spacers so the car tramlines everywhere. Let’s lower the car so it scrapes on every speed bump. Let’s change every black piece of plastic to carbon fiber and shave off 3 ounces. Is there so much wrong with the car as it stands? I bought a 2024 M2 in Brooklyn gray and the car is fine. I’ve tracked it and it corners beautifully. Why ruin a beautiful car with junk add-ons? If you want to corner faster, buy the Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Please leave the car alone. 453 hp will spread the rear tires there is no need to boost the power to 800 hp. Enjoy the car, especially after spending $70K+. Now I’ll get off my high horse and wait for the people who can tune a car better than BMW to chime in.

I get your perspective, but keep in mind that all the components installed on this M2 were all BMW M Performance parts, which were engineered to work perfectly well with the M2. The suspension and brake pads are slightly stiffer and have more bite, which help on the track.

Who do you think you are to tell people what they can or can't do with their cars? They spent the same amount of their own money as you did, why does it bother you so much what others do to their car? Just take life a little bit easier. Modifying cars is and always has been a part of car culture. Even if it's not your style, you should learn to at least understand others and that everyone has different interests even among car enthusiasts.

@@RichWithCars Why not just install the carbon ceramic brakes from the M3/M4? A lot of money but if you’re setting up the car for track work, go with the best track brakes.

Thank you by the way for answering me the reason for your changes….track work is great! More people who buy high powered cars should track their cars. When I first tracked my BMW 325i back in 1995, I thought I was the world’s best driver. Boy, was I wrong! Over the last almost 30 years of tracking my 9 different BMW M cars, I’ve learned plenty. I’ve been instructing novice drivers now for over 15 years and they listen and want to learn. They haven’t killed me yet! Car control including learning understeer-oversteer-over correcting can save lives on the highway in rain and snow. I always tell my students 3 things on the track: someone will always be faster than you; leave your ego at home; and no matter how much you love your car, it does not care if you live or die.
